What an incredible experience. My business trip to Aberystwyth couldn’t be any better thanks to the friendly staff at the Library! Interesting exhibits, access to the reading area, warm room- great for any work you need to do on your laptop ot if you need a more cozy place to read. Stunning views, children play area, cafe on site and a souvenir shop. Keep up the good work, you’re amazing!
Excellent pit stop to charge the car and get a quick snack before setting off for home.
We visited the library to see the loaned Canaletto and stayed for hours to enjoy the rest of this wonderfully curated exhibition. The staff were helpful, welcoming and very well informed. Free entry and free parking. Wonderful place to visit.
Went to get our car charged which we found very easy to use, we were very happy as some we find can be difficult to work out. While we were waiting for our car to charge we decided to go to the cafe for a bit to eat and drink very nice. Whilst we were there we walked around the library, what a lovely building and all the information about it and other stories were really interesting.
Really not family friendly at all, and disappointed to find after a long drive that the actual library section is not open to under 16s. My very bookish teenager who very much knows her way around a library was turned away by quite rude staff and ended up in tears on the steps outside because she wasn’t allowed to sit and read in silence. Supposed to be a national library for the people of wales, but our experience was of an elitist library for academics only. Think if I’d submitted my degree certs beforehand we might have had more luck but we clearly didn't look the part to be shown some reasonable discretion
