Wow! This place stunned this equine Novice. I knew nothing about horses, let alone racing horses before going. I think I now have a beginners bit. The displays were informative and interactive for Littles. We did a tour, which was fabulous as we got to talk to trainers and see horses being trained. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable and answered all this newbies questions. Ran out of time to see the art across the street and will be back. Thank you ladies!
Loads to see and do. Guided tour twice a day to look at the resident horses and hear all about them. Cafe and bakery on site. Admission included a free return valid for a year! Will definitely be back as we didn't get round everything as we were going racing in the afternoon.
Absolutely loved our trip. Such good value for money. My kids loved it. Never spent so long in a museum. The interactive side was amazing. They loved the simulator and the saddle display meeting the racehorses. Special mention to the man operating the simulator, he was really patient and kind with my daughter who is super anxious and shy. She went on it twice as she felt so relaxed. Definitely going back. All the staff were welcoming too.
Enjoyed the museum And the horse rehabilitation loved the art gallery would have liked to spend more time there had a lovely man show me around and explain a lot of the artists to me
This was our second visit with a group of high school students. We were warmly greeted and swiftly directed to our allocated parking area. Staff were friendly and extremely knowledgeable but the star of the show once again was Frank. We certainly kept him busy on the racing simulator, thanks to all for a lovely visit.
It was great experience and when you are horse lover, you will be amazed to see the place and history of horce racing. They have shown all breed history as well which is a great info. There is a comparison between human heart, brain with horse as well. Horse heart weigh is 5 kg while our heart is way smaller. But we have a bigger brain than horse. Almost double size. Kids can ride horse smiluator to feel like jocky. Must visit if in town.
This museum covers an extensive history of horse racing in Britain. My girls enjoyed it because it was pretty interactive. There are also racing horses which you can see. The staff is lovely. It would be best to have more than an hour to visit this museum.
A lot to see. Free tour to see the retired racehorses housed on the premises. Part of the old palace is adjacent to the main building which is now an art gallery, a volunteer here was very informative about the works on display.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Informative experience on how racehorses are retrained. Bakery/coffee shop on site with plenty room to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. And you can test yourself on a horse trainer harder than you think. Good couple of hours in Newmarket.
I opted for a membership because my toddler loves being in this Museum. Amazing
