Really good food, friendly and helpful staff, food was as expected hot and all came at once, the only thing I would improve would be the menu states ice cream and milkshakes but unfortunately they don't actually do them. Other than that, 5 out of 5 for effort and good value for money. Prefer over five guys any day.
Ordered food, arrived barely warm, ans order was wrong, and missing the basics for that set burger ie bacon, onion rings, and looked like a toddler had slapped the burger together. I am very Disappointed
2nd time ordering, first time was meh!! Second time even worse. The hot dog is solid and difficult to eat. Bread all soggy and chips delivered cold. I’ve honestly tried to eat this thing and even had to build it myself as it comes plain and the extras in little plastic tubs. Didn’t even bother adding the onions as they were disgusting. Supposed to be plain sautéed. Sausage is also some weird red meat. What’s wrong with a normal American hotdog we all know. Dumb it down a bit and just do simple delicious food.
Inedible stale bread and cold fries.... says it all really, raised it and got a different roll and some new fries however these fries were just refried and were too solid to eat with the plastic fork. Good concept but really poorly delivered and I won't be going back. Edit: So been offered 10% off my next meal even though 50% of my last meal was inedible.... don't think I'll accept.
Amazing find! Never seen this chain before, but so glad I went in. Great service, lovely clean restaurant and most impressive burger! And the fries! Oh my god, best fries I've ever had! Nathan's Famous needs to be tried!Food: 5/5
Chicken Burgers are nice, not top of the range, but theyre not disappointing. My chilli dog was really small. Sausage was nice but the size made it disappointing. Get bigger next time. Such a shame that the crinkle cut fries are absolutely RUBBISH! They taste stale. I've ordered from here 5 times and this fries are consistently below par.
I don't usually post reviews for food places, but we had the most amazing customer service by Keya-Reza I believe this was the name, it was the one on the receipt it was only for a short few minutes whilst we placed our order but he was extremely welcoming, and very efficient and clearly knew the menu very well. I've come to Nathan's famous a few times now and can't fault it, Brilliant food huge portions such great prices and really fast service. I came on Sunday the 9th of October and I'm not sure of any other staff members name but there was a lovely girl taking out the food orders who has served me before, and she is equally as lovely and welcoming. Even though she is just bringing the food over, she really makes an effort to make you feel welcome If I had cash on me I would've tipped these two but I didn't have any cash, so this is my next best thing. I really hope the manager sees this and acknowledges what brilliant staff they have working here. Thank you! X
This little light of mineeee, I'm gonna let it shine! And it's shining all the way to Nathan's in Portswood. I visited this world famous eatery to try their legendary beef franks, and boy was it worth the visit. I felt like a fat kid in a candy shop. I asked the friendly and handsome young gentlemen behind the till to recommend me his absolute favourite dish. He recommended I try their burgers! In particular, the BBQ Bacon Tribeca. I thanked him for his time, and retired to one of their comfortable booths to ponder my ordering decision. And oh how I pondered. I spent around 25 minutes trying to make a choice, but I simply couldn't. In the end I decided that I must try one of everything! or near enough! I eventually placed an order for the aforementioned and highly reccomended BBQ Bacon Tribeca, along with a side of Jalapeno and Cheese loaded fries, a footlong Cheese and Bacon dog, some onion rings and a big old root beer to wash it all down with. Given the girthy size of my order, I was very impressed with the short wait time. In under 10 minutes a polite young lady delivered a banquet of American dreams to my booth. I found myself overcome with emotion as I gazed upon this delicious and possibly insurmountable mountain of stateside goodness. After careful deliberation, I decided the best place to start was with a foot of beefy righteousness. Hallelujah!! After living in this great country for neigh on 58 years now, I truly believed that the brine canned British hot dog was at the cutting edge of roll ready sausage. How wrong could I have been. Although I still enjoy a cheap hot dog, I cannot consciously compare the 100% beef hot dogs of Nathan's Famous to the canned chicken lips we find in our British stores. This truly was a taste sensation. A juicy dog, with a lot of bite. Before I knew it I had already swallowed the full 12 inches. I know wish I'd ordered another, but two feet of sausage is a lot to take even for me. And now on to the burger. I don't know what the word Tribeca means. I can only assume it means mountains of finely cooked meat, covered in lashings of bbq sauce and onion rings. This was a very big boy. After carefully considering whether or not it was worth unhinging my jaw, I decided to give this meaty boi a big old squeeze and jump in head first. I didn't think much could top the footlong hot dog, but this burger was already vying for top spot. The mountains of onion rings and loaded fries that I had been greedily shovelling in for the last 15 minutes made this a near impossible challenge. I don't think I have ever eaten this much food in one sitting. My stomach was fuller than the back of my car after filling up on duty free wine in Calais. I washed this gut busting taste of the states down with an ice cold root beer. The flavour is one that I'll struggle to accurately describe. A complex potion fresh from the sassafras. A spicy vanilla perhaps? I was spent. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The music was just right, and I even left with a handful of paper hats for the kids including one for myself. With my belt buckle loosened, and my hat firmly in place, I left the restaurant looking like a bloated and overweight sailor, fresh off the back of a life changing voyage. What is it about Nathan's that makes it so famous? Is it their food? Their customer service? Or the ability to make even the most mundane of dishes the humble hot dog, into a feast fit for a king? I don't know. But in the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'll be back! Albeit with some extra stretchy joggers and a 2 day fast in preparation. Snack, snack, snack!
The review below this section is what this establishment used to be like. It’s no longer this way. The staff are regularly incompetent and slow, with my latest experience being particularly rude and unhelpful after a long wait and an incorrect order. I’ve come here dozens of times, but I will not be returning. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Been a weekly regular since I first ordered! Typically order delivery, but decided to try dine-in and was pleased by the clean and modern atmosphere. I was attended by Danny who reminded me of the ability to make my order a meal and utilize my student discount, and was overall incredibly helpful! The prices are considerably cheaper in person rather than through delivery, offering customers a much more affordable opportunity! I do need to note that wait times are often long, however totally worth it! My personal recommendation are the cheese and bacon fries despite varying amounts of cheese and/or bacon depending on the day! as well as the mac and cheese triangles!
Looked for a quick bite after our GoApe session, this place was only about 2.5 miles away. Have had Nathan's hotdogs loads of times before, being American... Was surprised to see this in Southampton. Must say, the place was spotless, super clean, spacious, and well lit, with loafs of natural light from the almost full length front windows. Staff were polite and friendly and freely offered advice on options and customer favourites. The bacon cheeseburger was tender, cooked well, juicy and full of flavor! The cheese and bacon fries were fantastic! Loved the lemonade, and kids loved the slushies! Would definitely go back.
