Absolutely no way for tenants to initiate the deposit return process. All the power is with the landlord. My landlord ignored my e-mails for 6 weeks requesting my deposit be returned after my end of tenancy check out, I sent mydeposits an e-mail about this to which they never replied. There is not even a user login or account creation process in place for tenants. Compare this to the far superior DPS, where the tenant begins the returns process with a request once logged in, they then contact the landlord who has a certain amount of time to notify of any deductions...a much better system then the absolute joke which mydeposits uses.

Initially the company were awful at responding to emails or offering any guidance and assistance on getting my deposit back. However, when the customer service operator I was dealing with went on holiday, her colleague Miss King took over. She was extremely helpful and talked me through the whole process. My dispute got sent off after two days of Miss King's initial email and I got my full deposit back. I am grateful that Miss King picked up my dispute otherwise I would probably still be waiting for it to get sorted and would not have been given any information.

Solid service. Even though it took a while, they came through and within the claimed period of time. Helpful staff and got my money back from a dubious landlord even though i thought i wont be seeing a penny.

Fast, friendly and efficient at dealing with deposit dispute enquiries. Chloe was professional and attentive and I felt that I was in good hands. The online dispute registration process is comprehensive but user-friendly.
