Definitely better than the beaches in Edinburgh. The waves are not huge and water remains warm in the summer time, ideal for a weekend dip in the sea. Only issue is the dirt and sea weed, that’s scattered all around the beach. Remains less crowded and ideal for picnic/bbq. Lots of options for car parking.
This is a lovely beach to walk along. It has many shells, sea glass quartz and other stones. There is drift wood and lots of views. There are facilities, a snack wagon and a garage near by. A lovely place to visit.
Absolutely brilliant beach our dog loved it and so did we ,some lovely cafés .
Great to explore and go for a paddle when the tide has gone out past the harbour walls. But be aware that it comes in again quickly check the times beforehand
We went this morning as it was on our route home from Edinburgh. Quiet, clean and a lovely walk.
