Our experiences twice this week, these are the issues we have had 1. Attitude of staff - belligerent and non co-operative re items that were missing from our take away order. 2. Cold food 3. Non completion of order 4. Refusal to do anything about it even though have paid in full 5. Fish Finger sandwich tainted with Garlic 6. Email ordering did not work 7. Refused to compensate even though we had paid in full 8. Would advise anyone wanting to use this cafe to take a detour to Traffic unless they are willing to improve their service and attitude
We stayed one night in Great Dunmow last year to catch an early morning flight from Stansted and found there is little choice of reasonably priced places to eat in the evening, so chose this restaurant as a last resort. We found food to be OK, but a bit pricey for what we needed and the place lacked atmosphere. We stayed in Great Dunmow again this year for the same reason and found the same thing, so having read the menu displayed outside and seeing a spare table inside we tried to enter the restaurant, only to be confronted by the Manager we assume who said that it was closed for a private function not mentioned on any notices on the door and rudely slammed the door in our faces while the waiter/barman laughed at us from behind the bar. Went up the road to a reasonable Chinese restaurant and certainly won’t consider visiting this place again.
Excellent cakes and delightful paninis. Surprisingly cozy even though it's on the Great Dunmow High Street.
