As a woman in my 60’s , I thought better late than never to get into weight training. Mike explained all the benefits that functional resistance training can have. He worked out a plan for me based on my current abilities and really went above and beyond in coaching correct technique. I have been a member since they opened and wouldn’t consider another gym! Fantastic equipment and service with a welcoming and friendly environment.
Incredible gym with a welcoming owner. It's got everything you need regardless of your weight lifting goals. If you're aiming for strength, whether powerlifting, strongman, powerbuilding or Olympic lifting then I assure you this is where you want to be, not a commercial gym. Edit: the original reason I joined, a staple for the gym in the modern world, its 24/7 access.
An excellent gym - the range and amount of equipment is amazing and means you are never waiting around, even at peak times. The owner, Mike, is always on hand to offer advice and can design workout programmes for you based on your specific goals. Would highly recommend!
I absolutely love this gym! There is so much equipment, you never have to wait for anything. Whether you are a beginner or a pro you will feel welcome, the owner is really knowledgeable and always happy to help with technique and form. Friendly atmosphere with regular events!
After starting my training in commercial gyms I decided I wanted to find a place where I can actually access all the equipment I need to get my workouts done, and I wanted to join somewhere that had more of a sense of community. Having joined xfitness just as the gyms reopened after lockdown I can say I was onto a winner. I love training here and have progressed so much faster in comparison to other gyms. The atmosphere is absolutely sound, you can just crack on and get the work done if you want to, but there's also lots of friendly faces if you want to have a chat between sets or need a spot on a lift. I had been following a power building programme but was curious about the strongman equipment they had there and have branched out to start including strongman as well and it's been really good fun so far Definitely recommend!
I've been training at X-Fitness since September this year 2019 I'm completely new to strength training and wasn't really sure where to start, so you can imagine I was a bit nervous. Mike was really helpful and non-judgmental and set me off on a suitable programme to get me started. He manages to perfectly balance offering help and advice with letting you just get on and try stuff. There are no ego's here. Everyone I've met is busy doing their own thing for the right reasons no-one is parading around and showing off; everyone is just cracking on with their own workout. There is enough equipment for everyone without any awkward waiting around. I tend to train in the day but love the fact that if need be I can go out of hours as the gym is open 24/7. It's never a chore to go to X-Fitness. It's more of an issue for me if I miss a day! The biggest testament I can give this place is to say I have to drive past loads of other gyms to get here but I still would rather travel half an hour to come here than go somewhere closer to home. Best gym in Stockport for sure.
As a rugby player I was thrilled to find a purpose built facility dedicated to not only strength and conditioning but also offers all the accessory machines needed to build and maintain muscle. Ive never been to a gym before that has a 300kg tyre, atlas stones and Bodybuilding machines! Great place to do some proper training! Fun days getting to pull a 13ton truck are a great laugh too.
Brilliant gym with loads of equipment! Mike the owner is very friendly and really helpful. The gym is 24 hours as well so that's another bonus. Fab gym, would highly recommend.
