Beautiful walks with picnic areas, a play area and interesting informative signposts explaining about the wildlife around the park. There's also a farm area with animals that you can walk around and see the animals from an animal and people safe distance.
The park offers different trails to explore, through the woods along the river and the open countryside. A wooden staircase leads you to the top of the Avon Aqueduct where you can gain beautiful views over the surrounding landscape. It is only a pity that the Steading Cafe and the toilets are currently close. A very nice walk nevertheless.
This is the perfect place. Its phenomenal. Free to visit. Car park is £1. Small farm. Public toilets and information centre. Allotments. Children's play area. Picnic area. Open fields. History building ruins. River Avon. Forest walks. There is the Lin's Mill Aqueducts which is mind blowing to spectate. Apple orchards. Bee hives not assecable by public. Wonderful places for families. Dogs are welcome and there is many bins. Only down side is the cafe shut due to Covid however there is an ice cream van at different times. Absolutely love this place.
Lovely place, it has a nice little farm with animals you can walk around to see. It has a nice park and a lovely hidden bit of water. Great day out
A family favourite location, especially in autumn conker season. Beautiful woodland walks beside the river Avon and the Union Canal viaduct . Also a large selection of farm animals and birds to see indoors and out.
Very nice place to walk. Children can not only look at the animals, but also look for marked places on the map. And also take a walk near the river and throw pebbles. A wonderful place to relax.
This is a great wee park, farm, woodland walk with the added advantage of the trail running along side the river, all of which is free. At the farm area there is a donation box situated in front of one of the animals outbuildings. I would encourage to danote a small donation as it can't be cheap to upkeep the many animals on the site. I was a little disappointed that the cafe was closed due to funding as this could have been run by volunteers too and been a good way to provide revenue for the farm. On the whole though great place for free to keep the kids amused and if the weather is nice enough there are picnic benches around to enjoy a picnic too.
Lovely car park, pity the roads, not in very good condition. £1.00 charge which can be by card/coin. Here I accessed the Avon Aqueduct, by foot - too many stairs to carry a bike unless its very lightweight. Think there are other walks to access. Smooth exit, barrier lifts on exit. Shame 5pm appears to be the time of closure.
We visited Muiravonside Countyside Park for the first time with friends who live locally and have kids similar ages. They absolutely LOVED the playground and also the 'play trail' which takes you around the park. Spent a bit of time visiting the animals and it's fantastic to see a lot of work getting done to the place. My only thought would be that it would be great with a proper onsite, rather than just an ice-cream van, definitely looks busy enough. Look forward to returning here again, big hit with our little family of four
Walking trails with lots of things of interest along the way e.g. massive aqueduct, fast flowing river, sculpture park, animals, playgrounds, carved benches, ancient lime kilns, ... Great in any weather. The nearby cafe at Avon Bridge is also very good.
