Please feel free to ignore my review, I am clearly in the wrong, I was in a poor mood or having an out of body experience! Well let’s start with the overwhelming positive, as they say “if you don’t have anything positive to say do not say anything at all”nThe staff were super helpful, pleasant and attentive and appeared that nothing was too much trouble. The food was very well presented, the taste was “adequate” Does “adequate” justify a poor review… hell no! Neither does it justify glowing feedback . Could it be me? Possibly, but guest and I independently concluded the same.nThe establishment gave me the impression that they seem to be drinking the Kool-aid of past greatness. Please give it a try as most of the other reviews are very good, and I am clearly in the minority.
We decided to come here for mothers day with our nan and we wished we had came with emptier bellies!nnI am an awkward dairy and gluten free person and i also requested no fish for myself and my nan. Nothing was too much trouble.nnThe decoration inside the rooms is incredible. We were in the very top room with this gorgeous parrot light.nnHannah was our waitress and she was brilliant with her reccomendations and suggestions.nnWhen the food came everything was explained to us and we tucked in to our food. The food won and we ended up taking a little box home with us. But it was so worth it.nnWe will definately be back!
Lovely quaint place full of character, it's like sitting for dinner at a friend's house.nStaff lovely and friendly and attentivenAfternoon tea was festive special including a alcoholic drink, I had a voucher for afternoon tea for 2, had to pay £11 each extra due to festive option, which we were happy to do!nFresh ingredients, catered to my nut allergy, what more can you ask for!nWill definitely be returning
We had a wonderful afternoon tea today - delicious sandwiches, scones & cakes, as well as great tea and coffee. I booked last minute but the team were still able to accommodate dietary restrictions. We were made to feel so welcome by Chloe, loved how she explained everything, thank you for making our afternoon extra special. Can’t wait to come back again!
An absolutely beautiful building, which feels well loved and cared for. The bathrooms are clean, well stocked and non-binary. We came in for a roast on a Sunday. The service was polite, funny and caring. The food was out of this world! Beautifully delicate starters, a hearty roast, delicious coffee, which was happy to be replaced for free when I miss ordered and gorgeous desserts. A massive recommendation! I hope they keep the roasts coming as they are spectacular!nnIf I was to be really really picky, my only things I would improve are:nnThicker gravy that comes on the side with the roastnThe Yorkshire puddings should be cooked in beef fat, or a much much nicer oilnAndnI think the rossis and Cadbury brands used are a bit run of the mill and for us don't scream quality. Being close to Pump Street Chocolatiers I think it would be good to partnership with them, and although my ice cream was nice I think other brands who make Gelato are better.nnThe extra 2% so make it completely peerless!nnThank you so much, we can't wait to come and bring our friends and family.
