Called to see if they stocked what I was after, yes they did. Arrived to purchase and attempted to pay. Got snarled at that it was cash only under £5 and the item got snatched back while being berated that it would cost her more in selling fees than the item was worth. I'd advise shopping elsewhere. She was just downright rude.

I just collected a dress, had 4 inches taken up off of hem.  Sadly its about an inch longer at the front than the back!  Luckily it's a maxi dress so hopefully no one will notice. Price was cheap so you get what you pay for I suppose

Now, Mrs B is a character, no doubt about that. She’s extremely busy, an excellent seamstress and attached to her sewing machine. We always go to her for alterations and she’s saved our curtains and jeans numerous times. You’ll get direct answers and an efficient service from her at a great price.

I had a bridesmaid dress that needed some alterations in a small amount of time and the team at Mrs Bobbins were brilliant! The work was completed to a very high, professional standard and the people were lovely! So helpful, kind and polite! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get some alterations done. Thank you all!

We had 3 bridesmaid dresses adjusted. I was told for my sister back adjusting and loops putting in with lace up ribbon it would be £25 then it would be no more than £20 for it to be taken up.  When my sister picked the dress up today she was charged £70. They have made a good job but it's disgusting they've charged this much without pre-agreeing!! Will not becusing again!!

Went for a bridesmaids dress altering. Was happy with the finished article but the service was much to be desired I am afraid. I thought supporting my local high street would have been a good thing but I won’t go back. Found the experience very awkward and felt that I wasn’t welcome.

Called in here today for knitting pattern/wool and some advice. Was told they know nothing about knitting so couldn’t give me any advice. Mrs Bobbins herself was extremely unhelpful and proceeded to use her sewing machine whilst the man tried to help me with the wool and a pattern. All she kept saying was that they sold King Cole wool and patterns and they couldn’t be knitted with any other wools! Not bad to say she knows nothing about knitting.  Needless to say I won’t be returning I will travel to Wakefield where I hope I’ll get more help.  If they know nothing about knitting they shouldn’t sell wool products and accessories.

Mrs Bobbins has made numerous outfits for me and altered some of my existing clothing.  Her shop is excellent too with a whole variety of crafting goodies and lots of material for dress making etc. Very good rates. Would highly recommend.

Been using Mrs Bobbins for around 10 years now for all sorts of clothing and upholstery amendments. Great friendly service and competitive pricing

Sold my student daughter and her friend enough material to make a quilt cover each for a sleeveless shift dress. Very disappointing . Very expensive and no stock range.
