Very pleasant but a bit echoey and loud depending on who else is there

The staff are very friendly and showed us to our seats in the outside eating area. We had a dog with us and one staff member bought us a dog bowl with water without us asking! The food arrived quickly with fast and friendly service. The breakfast rolls were really tasty. I would recommend a stay here for anyone with or without a dog!

I visited Mr Miles hoping for lunch at 11.30am but was told lunch was only served from 12 noon. So I had poached eggs, smoked salmon on a muffin with hollandaise sauce. The muffin was dry, old and full of holes. It resembled an old ciabatta roll rather than a fresh plump muffin. The eggs were runny. I would have hoped for firmer eggs as there was a sauce on top of them. The salmon was dry in parts and the sauce was tasteless and cold. At £6.95 I would have hoped for a more appetising breakfast. The coffee was good, though. I shan't be going there again unless, of course, they produce fresh appetising food. One star for the staff who were friendly, helpful and provided a quick service and one star for the coffee..

Sadly my experience did not live up to other reviews. I visited during a lunch hour when the shop was very quiet. I had homemade feta cheese and spinach quiche and salad, which frankly was appalling quality and at (I think £7.95) very poor value for money. The quiche was dry, tasteless, looked as though it had been sat in a warmer for days and looked and tasted like a badly made omelette. I have had better quiches from a supermarket. The salad consisted of less than a handful of 'leaves' in a finger bowl with TWO slices of cucumber. No tomatoes or dressing. The only item on the plate serving any purpose was the coleslaw, but sadly that wasn't enough to redeem this plate of food. I would not visit again nor would I recommend it. Cakes all looked very nice. Maybe they should stick to cakes and teas. If

This was a lovely experience going into this coffee shop, and i can't wait to return! Everything was perfect, from the moment i was professionally shown to my seat by a friendly young man, i was made to feel very welcome, and the coffee and delicious cake that i had, were both utterly divine! They are a little pricey compared to some places, but i believe you get what you pay for, and in this coffee shop, that is certainly the case as everything was spot on. They have outdoor seating also for warmer weather, plus they sell tea and coffee utensils, and bags of local coffee from Porlock, i purchased a bag of Cathedral coffee beans, strength 4, that i can't wait to try at home.
