I love Chinese and having been to many a Chinese restaurant and China itself I can truly say this is the best food I've eaten in terms of quality and value for money. The staff are friendly and would bend over backwards to ensure you have a pleasant meal. The satay chicken and spare ribs are the best for miles around! Nothing tastes artificial like some places.
The best Chinese for miles. Have been dining at Mr Chongs for about 16 years and it never disappoints. Mr Chong and his delightful family work so hard to ensure you always have a fab night out. The food is consistently good. The starters being a real highlight. A+
Used for the first time last night upon recommendation. Very nice place. Recently tastefully renovated. Very friendly staff who will help with menu choices. Air conditioned. Food was very tasty. Served traditionally, so you get a small bowl and chopsticks. Regular cutlery available on request. Less than £50 for two courses for two, including a couple of alcoholic drinks. Nice touch at the end was hot towels, mints and a complementary shot which was rather tasty! Will be going back without a doubt. Well recommended.
I have been eating at Mr Chong's for more than 25 years and still enjoy first class food, service and attention. I too have eaten Chinese food all over the world and Mr Chong's still rates as one of the best. If you want a change from typical "takeaway" food give Mr Chong's a try - but if you have one of the delicious set menus make sure you are hungry as there is a lot of lovely food.
Possibly the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten and I have eaten a lot! Went there on my birthday and left wondering why I had bothered to go. The take away's in Walton provide a better quality in terms of of taste. Place lacked any atmosphere so it added to my overall poor impression. Mr Chongs fish and chips are really good and I use that regularly but the I would not recommend the Chinese restaurant as even the basic dishes were not even passable.
Fantastic food! We've sampled Chinese cuisine all over the world, including China. Mr. Chong does it right. And what a delightful couple Mr. Chong and his wife make! Who knew such an authentic experience could be found on the outskirts of London?!
Not a long wait, we ordered a small and large cod with two small chips. portions are good.. not a lot of difference between the small and large and the chips small portion was also large enough for us to share. i recommend this if what you crave is fish&chips!
Food was excellent, Mr Chong made a special request dish for me and it was absolutely delicious - it was the first takeaway order I made here and I will definitely be returning for more of this lovely, tasty food.
Food was ok until we asked for a doggie bag. We ordered different dishes but the main was lamb only. The next day we opened the bag to warm up the food. The surprise was when we realised what we were eating was actually pork. Tut tut. Disappointed.
Without a doubt the best family run Chinese restaurant for miles! Great food, friendly service and have been going for over 20 years! Thank you Mr Chong!
