Nipped in for a carvery lunch. As far as carvery- pretty impressed. Nice selection of veg and was all well cooked no over cooked sprouts!The chef carved us a good portion of meat and we were impressed to see the Yorkshire puds being home made. The only downside- as is often the case with buffet style food- temperature. Everything was just warm. It was quite after lunch when we came in but the buffet was set for 200. Maybe putting small batches out to order would work better during quiet times. We really appreciated the 20% blue light discount for NHS workers. Overall would recommend, and will return.
Came yesterday with friends had a great meal staff were friendly and all seemed to be busy. The pub is really nice inside not what I expected at all. The food we had was great we came for carvery but the staff told us their delivery didn’t arrive these things happen. We ended up having the steak fondue I am actually glad the carvery was off as it was amazing defiantly worth a try if your a steak lover. Steak was cooked perfectly there is a chart at the till which was great. Would highly recommend as we really enjoyed our night and the bill wasn’t that expensive compared to other places. The man who appeared to be the manager was really friendly.
came last night for a meal with friend. 10 of us had carvery which was fresh and meats were cooked perfectly. 5 of us had the normal menu a mixture of steak dishes and chicken all came out hot and fresh steaks cooked perfectly to what we asked for. The pub has really changed since we last visited much nicer inside. The staff were great and really helpful and friendly thank you for our great girls night out.
Had a lovely time here, food tasted amazing, great for family's as we was meeting friends with children so had stuff to keep the kids entertained. Staff really friendly. The only down side was there wasn't clear signs that the app wasn't working properly so ordered drinks twice on there and had a long wait time for drinks, and we was told when ordering food we could no buy extra Yorkshire puddings but then told we can later buy the staff working the carvery. Would definitely return and would recommend
First visit for many years, pleasantly surprised, it was quiet when we were there on a Wednesday lunchtime but the friendly attentive staff looked after us, very impressed with the guy who served us at the bar and carvery, he was witty and efficient. The food itself was delicious, I had the large carvery with juicy beef and Turkey, the portions were very generous, the veg and roasties were spot on, my wife also had gammon which she adored. They were putting up the Xmas decorations while we were there so it is going to look very festive, will be returning again I suspect, very impressed.
Took the kids to have breakfast with Father Christmas - good breakfast , great, friendly helpful staff and fantastic value for money. The kids loved the morning and Father Christmas Max was excellent. Shout out to Santa and all the team. Nothing was too much trouble and very efficient service. Give it a go.
This was a spur of the moment visit en route home. Mottram roundabout was clogged up so a break was called for. This is a very large public house with catering facilities. Unfortunately we arrived as the carvery was closing looked very nice with all the usual fare so we had to choose from the adequate table menu. The pub was very quiet even for a lunch time. Service was quick and the meal adequate and tasty. If the opportunity arose again I would call in for a meal.
Lovely place and food but only one complaint, the waiting staff were too keen to take away our plates. There were four of us, three of us had finished eating only just and suddenly our plates were removed from the table, but one of us was still eating. Surely the right etiquette is to wait until everyone has finished eating. Then another waiter came over and and asked if she'd finished, she hadn't, then another so in the end she said yes even though she still hadn't quite finished. Sort your waiters out.
I came in this afternoon and had a carvery with a family member, it was lovely and was dressed lovely for Christmas. Whilst there we noticed Father Christmas was visiting in his own special grotto. We left to collect the kiddes and came back to play in the Wacky Warehouse, the kids had their tea and visited Santa. They loved it, I loved it the staff were amazing. Thank you all for a wonderful experience xx
We come every year christmas shopping from Plymouth and stay next door in the premier inn. We meet up with family for breakfast and evening meal and we always thoroughly enjoy everything. The manager lady has been there for years and like all the staff very welcoming and happy. Thanks once again for a lovely yearly Christmas trip enjoyed with lovely food
