Much improved since my last visit years back. Was nothing more than a few platforms with a portacabin ticket office. Now it's a fully functional railway station with modern lifts and a nice brand new spacious and airy ticket hall. Staff pleasant enough. Station right in the centre of town with bus connections outside in a small but pleasing square.
It's an okay station; 4 platforms only, one WHSmith store it's closed when I was here, public toilets, telephone booths, free taxi calls, staffed ticket counter as well as ticketing machines. Fairly quiet and generally clean although the place could be spruced up a bit. It's accessible by wheelchair users with accessible toilets and lifts. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are no vending machines so don't expect to buy drinks whilst waiting.nn#accessible
Very nice day in Motherwell. Quite small but clean. There is a lift but no shops.
Went to Motherwell train station yesterday 14.5 million spent and only one car parking space to drop off , all other spaces for taxis and disabled. I had an elderly relative with luggage who needed help to get to platform I had to go round the one way system a good few times until the only space became available , who plans these areas ! ,
I went to pick up my mum & friend from the train station. As she is 82 she needed some assistance. The staff at the ticket gates said they could organise someone to bring her up or I could meet them coming off the train. I said I was happy to meet her at the platform. They opened the barrier to let me through and helped with her case when I got back to the barrier. Great to see common sense is still alive and well and thanks to the staff for their help
