My first trip to Fir Park to watch the mighty Hibernian FC against Motherwell. To enter the Away end involves a wee walk up the hill and through the trees down into the stadium. First impressions were going good, stewards were friendly enough advising us to have tickets out etc. My nephew is type 1 so we had to bring our own refreshments as due to silly C19 regulations none were being served. Luckily we didn't get searched as it's always a nightmare trying to explain/plead our case. So feeling good we continued down to the entrance, carrying our Hibernian FC Flag attached to a 1m bamboo cane, which has been to every game in the last four seasons. Unfortunately we were spotted by a Security guard who informed us that flags on a stick are not allowed because wait for it "it can poke someone in the eye"... So we had to hide it among general rubbish lay around the entrance or not enter. As you can imagine we were no happy. Getting to our seats and watching the game was all good. Unfortunately as mentioned there was no refreshments apart from warm water, even worse they decided to block our sections from going out for a cigarette. This caused large number of people to get blocked in the stairwell - then as should have been expected everyone starts smoking in the staircase. Obviously this has a number of issues that could have turned nasty. Obviously us winning takes away a lot of the negative issues. So yeah not very impressed with our 1st visit to Fir Park. 3/5
Very helpful lady looking after away disabled fans. Like most football grounds wheelchair fans are too low down and in a corner. The net in the photo is only for pre-match practice.
Fair pricing, decent quality food on offer. Only 4 stars as I seen a young away fan being hit on the face with a vape thrown from a small group of home fans who looked dressed as if they were going on a heist rather than going to a football match
I recently attended the Motherwell v St Mirren game. The ground is close to Airbles station and is easy to get to. We had a good view of the pitch and the pies were good. Those Motherwell Bois are very noisy, they would wake the dead An enjoyable atmosphere and afternoon.
Nice stadium. Good atmosphere. Great pitch.
Motherwell Football Club is as good a place to watch football in Scotland as it gets. Football is quite a subjective experience, it's always better if your team wins and on this occasion mine did. It's been a few years since Motherwell won a trophy 1990 I think, too long, although they've been to a few finals recently. One of the best run clubs in Scotland, setting a fine example as a fan run club, like all regional clubs they suffer from the dominance of the bigot based clubs.
A decent ground to visit and good day out all round although the ground looks a bit odd as all the stands are different sizes .They had naughty firm back in the day called the saturday service crew who were not to be messed with thankfully those incidents are few and far between now .Overall a great day out
Fir park is a nice ground and Motherwell is a great community Club.l enjoy going to fir park
Great old fashioned football ground/stadium, with freindly stewards & staff. Enjoyable day at the football.
Different every time. Motherwell fans usually run the full gamut of emotion over 90 minutes but through thick and thin, draw, lose or win, Fir Park is a home from home.COYW
