My husband and myself visited Morrison Barnsley on Saturday, we was in the self service till and a lovely lady was so kind and helpful she helped us with a few things. We also saw her a few days before collecting donations for Alzheimer’s in her own time. This lady is really a valued part of the company. I managed to get her name they call her Yvonne. Just hope this review makes her day. Thank you for your help.
Not a bad selection of items to buy though I did struggle to get some items I was after. Some prices seemed a little higher than my normal supermarket e.g. baby sweetcorn, but the quality is good. Love the Morrisons More Card - saved me over £11 and nowadays that all helps. Overall a good shopping experience.
I like morrisons for my grocery shopping. I mostly do my shopping online and take advantage of the offers that are usually on and can save a lot of money when bulk buying. The food stuff is usually of good quality. I like having my groceries delivered, but i have noticed the price of delivery has increased over the years, but saying that so has petrol/ diesel and food itself. I can remember when the kids were small, being able to get a full trolley of groceries for £30, but now you're lucky to be able to get a basket full for that amount.
Only 3 stars, just because at the pastry/bakery when they slice/ handle the bread they never use gloves. They can use some cheap Clear Vinyl Gloves or something similar. I don't think it's very hygienic to scratch your head and then handle the bread with your bare hands, if you understand what I mean!
2 hours free parking, large modern store, cafe, hot food from market street
I am uncertain if I will continue shopping at Morrisons in Barnsley . I have escalated my concerns to the management team in the store. I went to purchase six bottles of wine that were on a special offer, only to be informed that I could buy four bottles only. I wonder why they don't state the offer on the aisle to save all the embarrassment . Additionally, you also encounter people outside the store asking for small change which can be offensive and embarrassing. Once you enter the store, it feels like shopping in a high-risk theft environment, with visible AI CCTV images of you being promoted on a TV screen for everyone to see. This doesn't contribute to a pleasurable customer experience. I am considering sticking with Tesco and Asda going forward as their policies and procedures agree more with my principles.
Not what it used to be. Often, there's no staff behind counters, and I end up walking away. The cafe is now rubbish as you have to wait ages to get a coffee, it was better before when you served yourself.
It's becoming more and more expensive to shop here, you would think they would do more to help especially with this cost of living crisis and folk struggling to eat , but instead Morrisons seemingly enjoying put prices up each week and taking advantage of they very customers they need
Parking is a scam! Got sent a parking fine letter saying I’ve overstayed, I didn’t! When spoken to a member of staff they said one of the cameras doesn’t capture exit correctly, not my problem, got a refund once it was checked. If you get a parking fine, double check as apparently it “happens” all the time according to their own staff. The lady supposedly a “manager” had a very bad attitude and no customer care skills even when they were in wrong, still no apology!
Good range of produce friendly customer team and good parking
