It is the first time I’ve ever used a kennels and was really nervous at leaving my little dog but I needn't have worried as Lynda was so friendly, reassuring and took time to get to know him by letting him in her house to get used to her/family and the other dogs. Nothing was too much trouble and always gave me an update and videos. Highly recommend. I will be booking him in again when we need too. He loved his little holiday.
We were really pleased with the care our dog received during a recent stay at Morningside. We needed a kennels at short notice when our dog became distressed following a house move and extensive renovations. He could not settle at home and was losing weight because he was permanently on edge. Lynda was fantastic giving him lots of care and attention and even a special diet to put his weight back on. I visited him at short notice after a week and was pleased to see him lively, settled and putting weight back on. I was happy to leave him there for a month in total. Lynda took great care of him and was always available on the phone for updates. We are grateful that Lynda was there to help him through a difficult time and we wouldn't hesitate to leave him there again.
Since new ownership morningside kennels has definitely improved tremendously. Lynda and her husband have worked hard to inject this new life into what was once very run down dirty kennels. Hats off to you both for completely revamping this now spacious boarding kennels. Both our dogs are happy to stay here time after time. The kennels are much bigger and brighter for our dogs. Thank you again for taking great care of them both.
Would just like to say big Thank you to Lynda the new owner at Morningside kennels. My dog benji stayed with her for a week why my mum was in hospital, I only picked my dog up on Saturday 15th December 2018, she is a lovely lady and took very good care of my dog. She was happy to show me the kennels and explained all about the renovations they are doing. Benji was one happy dog when I picked him up. I would have no problem at all sending my dog here again. He stayed in the summer when the old owners still had the kennels to be fair he was ok then, but the old owners. People skills were not very good. Lynda is a credit to this industry and I hope people don't compare her to the old owners, as she is nothing like them. Thank you Lynda for looking after my dog xxx
Would give no stars if possible or even minus. I notice it says under new ownership. Hopefully this is true and that vile old woman that ran it is now long gone. A couple of years ago my dog was there 2 nights and was ill for a week. They didn't let you see where they were kept what they hiding? and the woman was rude and ignorant. I know for a fact a small child was attacked by a dog under their care in the reception and they tried to throw the child and parents out for complaining! Had an attitude of couldn't care less even to the police who were called. For everyone's sake I hope it is genuinely under new ownership as they were not fit to run a kennel. Good riddance to them.
My dog escaped and got taken to MORNING SIDE KENNELS the lady i spoke to on the phone is very rude no customer service skills what so ever. My dog came out very sad when normally he's very bouncy. he looked as tho he had been drugged. i asked if they have given him any sleepers she said they have not. he now wont eat any food and he's being sick. I rang the kennels to ask how he has been in there care and has any dog's that have been in there had the same problems as my dog. She was very rude and said my dog was fine in there care. When five minutes after collecting him he was being sick and had blood in his stools. Im going to make him an appointment to see the vet he is just not right since hes been in there. Update. he has now died within 48 hours of leaving morning side kennels. Suspected parvo.
Always had a great experience with our dogs going here where they are well looked after.
DO NOT USE THESE KENNELS!! Our Dog escaped from our home and was taken to mornngside kennels. The customer service is appalling, the owner patronising and plain rude. The worst of our experience was the state that our dog was returned to us. It is as if she has been drugged. She is a 20month old excitable Samoyed but not now. She has no energy, is lathargic, falls when she sits down onto her face. She ate two full bowls of food and drank loads of water when home. She has diaoerhea and is just not herself. I will be reporting these kennels to the local authority. I suspect poor treatment, whilst in their care.
My dog was left here overnight as he escaped from our secure back garden, not only is £145 cash ridiculous, I can pay for a freddo contactless on my iPhone for 50p but they didn't accept card payment because it was the Preston area absolute joke! When we turned up the woman we saw were incredibly rude, never heard of customer service in her life, the phone staff were rude also, these types of places give kennels a bad name! God knows who voluntarily chooses this place to house their dogs whilst they are away!
We left our 7 and a half month old dog for one night with this kennel and would never out her in there again. On arrival we were greeted by a rude member of staff who couldn't seem to understand the amount of food we had left, despite the fact that we had portioned it per feed as asked by the receptionist. He also told us we were feeding her too much, even though the Vet has said she is in perfect body condition has a beautiful coat and is a healthy weight. We were told that they were going to try her with some food straight away as it was breakfast time, in the evening at tea time, and then again the following morning. However when we came to pick her up she was returned to us with a full portion of food, meaning she hadn't been given one of her meals. The elderly gentleman who returned her to us then went on to criticize us for using a Halti head collar, saying that we should be using a choke chain. I explained that we were using it for lead training and it was proving very effective, he then just shook is head in dissaproval. We had left the Halti with them for her to be walked on because, as a young dog, she is very energetic and doesn't walk well on her collar yet. However his comments lead me to believe that she was not walked using this if at all making it more difficult and uncomfortable for our dog and the person walking her. When we got her home she ran straight into the back garden to do her business, a very long wee and 2 very big number 2's, it was clear that she was desperate, this again makes me wonder if she had been walked twice daily as stated on the website. She also drank nearly a full, large bowl full of water leading me to believe that she didn't have a constant supply of drinking water, also stated on the website. I would NEVER recommend this place for any dog owner, it is clear that they are not dog lovers and do not care about the well being of your pet
