If you’re in Broadstairs, you absolutely can’t miss Morelli’s, the retro Italian ice cream parlour that’s perfect for any occasion. Last Saturday, we stopped by for their authentic Italian thick hot chocolate, and it was incredible—rich, velvety, and warming in all the right ways. It felt like a little piece of Italy right on the coast!nnThe atmosphere is charming and nostalgic, with that classic Italian flair that makes it a fun spot to relax. Bonus points for being dog-friendly—our furry babies were welcomed with a water bowl and dog treats which made the experience even better.nnWhether you’re after a cozy treat or one of their legendary ice creams, Morelli’s is definitely a must-visit when in Broadstairs. I’ll be back for sure!
Good Hot Chocolate & Interesting InteriornnStopped by Morelli’s Gelato in Broadstairs and had their thick Italian hot chocolate. It was rich and warming, a good choice for a cold day. The interior has a distinctive, retro feel, which adds some character to the place. It’s also dog-friendly, which is a nice touch. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
An amazing ice cream parlour that wears its heritage proudly. From the decor to the service and the sundaes it was all 10/10.nnYou have the option to take away which is a separate line near the entrance, or just walk on to the counter and order to sit in.
Recommended by my friend. Lots of seating so you can eat your ice cream or cakes in comfort. A good selection of deserts, even the old favourites. The prices had increased since the last time my friend visited, but they were very tasty.
If I was going to have a last meal, Morelli’s would be dessert.nnMy parents and grandparents used to bring me here as a kid, and I’ve been coming back for almost 40 years. I would say that whilst we all get older and dishes from our childhood are not what we remember, it’s not the case at Morelli’s. Every time I have an ice cream sundae, I am that small kid all over again.nnFrom the neon sign outside, you are transported back to a time of happiness. I always pounce on getting a seat at the pink booths, taking in the magic around me, seeing the joy of all ages, and to spy on what I may not have already gleefully spooned.nnThe team share my sweet delight of each creation on the menu and a fond longing for the return of their trifle sundae in particular. And whilst the extremely awesome Richard from Morelli’s and I wish it back into existence… today he made us one as a special surprise and one of the best Easter treats I can remember!nnWith soft syrupy sponge, jelly, fresh strawberries, custard, their signature soft serve vanilla ice cream and whipped cream with colourful sprinkles, who needs a time machine?nnIf in doubt, check out photos of my greatest sundae hits, because there’s a sundae for everyone from a menu that is better than any children’s book!nnI feel lucky that my childhood was blessed with memories that consistently bring such joy, and only wish every child at heart could enjoy a Morelli’s too. Thank you team and thank you Richard, you are the cherry on top!
