This is good train train station if you want to get to the stops between Morecambe and Leeds but it is a very poor train station with very little station facilities

In 1835 Poulton le Sands was a township in the parish of Lancaster. Poulton le Sands in now known as Morecambe. The name Morecambe was taken from the name of the bay itself, Mwr Cwm - of Celtic origin, and used as the name of the railway (Morecambe Harbour Railway) which opened in 1848. Beautiful views across Morecambe Bay with unbeatable Sunsets! Lots of historical sites to explore around Morecambe-Heysham-Overton-Lancaster, Halton and surrounding villages!

Morecambe what can you say in its favour?? poor rail connections, station ( more on the station once there was a really nice station, now reduced to a cold platform and some horrible odd shaped glass and metal hut with a very grumpy person selling tickets very unwelcoming and no shelter from rain and bad weather..) as far away from anywhere situated in what is best described in a car park... busy main road to cross dubious unruly youths, not the the sort of place you would expect, cheap tat shops selling the usual seaside rubbish the building are in a state of decay..the population are in trakkie bottoms and tops usually grey coloured wearing worn out shoes also found lots of rubbish strewn everywhere in side streets it all felt very threatening not a single police person (you cant say policeman any more for want of of offending something or other). So in conclusion morecambe is not the most ideal place to visit, I spent exactly one hour in the place and was back on the train out of there It was an experience I would rather forget. Really no stars for this decaying little run down town......High unemployment poor population trying to exist. Sorry this is My View and how it presented to me that day its an honest opinion many will disagree, but it's what I saw and it made my flesh crawl could not in all honesty advise anyone to go there.
