A gorgeous park with Playground and River Wandle going through. Plenty of walks, old trees, and meadows. Ideal for dog walking. Our dog very much enjoys jumping into the water and having a walk around. Oh, and a nice garden centre with the watermill as well. It's under National Trust...
I've been a visitor here for many years, it's irresistible. Children and dogs can still paddle in the clear, shallow streams, no draconian Health & Safety measures here. Just like it was in our childhood ! A couple who were with me were entranced by their first visit, and no wonder. It's easy to actually get here. Buses; the few minutes walk to the tube; a tram link station at the northern end, called Phipps Bridge, to where you can travel from Wimbledon Station ; and free car park. It's owned by the National Trust, but costs nothing to enter. We were there primarily to stock up on plants from the huge garden centre, and of course, sit outside the small tea room with coffee and cakes. There's another tea room close by. The watermill wheel still turns, as it has done for centuries now. It was originally built to grind tobacco to make snuff, but now a photographic and learning opportunity, powered by the stream flowing past. The stables are used by small enterprises, and there's a museum in the cluster of old buildings. Everywhere you turn is beauty, nature and small bridges. A fox calmly strolled past us in the Garden Centre. Fallen trees are used as features. There's a wetlands and children's farm, a rose garden which often stages plays. I saw several people going past in wheelchairs, so accessibility must be good.
What a lovely wander round! It's very welcoming, lots to see. On the costly side but lovely products and plants! The cafè is comfy, warm and welcoming too!
This time of year its a bit flat here. Generally some nice plants - but always with a hefty price unfortunately. Some nice gifts once again not bargain bucket but if you are looking for something last minute then its good. This time ofvyear not many outdoor plants March 2024.....to be expected
Not the cheapest, and the dogs certainly loved my purchases, so they rate the quality, but there's an great selection over a wide area from plants to pots to ornaments, etc. You can spend hours browsing here!
Lots of beautiful flowers in a serene garden, herbs plants, and the gentlly flowing river wandle make the garden a relaxing and therapeutic place to visit.
Great store with a rich choice of different garden goods. The prices are decent
Haven't been here since before covid, not a lot has changed, the book shop was the equivalent of a library in a small town, pity they were charging £2 for a paperback, whereas St.Raphaels in the main shopping area charged 2 for £1!!
Really pleasant place to check out if you’re looking for a place for gardening. Have a lot of options bought all our plants and pots whilst refurbishing our garden
Really lovely place, love to take the kids, lots of cool items to see and buy, great layout, has an aquarium also lots of fish to see and buy.
