This place is fantastic. We came here many years ago and didn't appreciate it quite as much as we should have. We came again recently and enjoyed the place so much we got an annual parking pass, would definitely Italy recommend it as it can get pricey otherwise. Talking about pricey, ensure to take your own food and drink, we forgot a drink last time and 2 cans of Pepsi max set us back £4.40. It is worth taking your bikes as well as the cycle routes are great fun, did the short ones last time as we had two younger children in tow, but will endeavour to complete them all next time. If you don't have your own, you can also hire bikes on site and enjoy the grounds that way, including trailers or attachments for the kids. The lake is beautiful. I have never seen so many tadpoles in one place in my life. It's a nice walk just around the perimeter, the kids loved wildlife spotting. The play parks are really good, ours love both the bigger park and the one aimed at smaller children. There is a steam train that services a lot of the ground, worth a trip to take in a lot of the scenery while sitting back and relaxing. There are several play areas out in the woodland, each one more amazing than the last, the Eagle is phenomenal. I would recommend the treetop trail, unless you're not great with heights. It's not that high up but can certainly affect those with a nervous disposition. Well worth a visit if you have kids or enjoy the outdoors.
Brilliant place for outdoor fun with plenty to keep kids, dogs and grown ups busy. The kids absolutely loved the Play Trail with several climbing frames, slides, play spaces etc and all for FREE. Yes you pay for parking -we were there over 5 hours and parking cost £15- but it's a small price to pay when there is so much on offer inside. The Ranger Den with animals and fossils was great and the play parks were also a big hit. There's also plenty of additional pay for activities Go Ape, Train ride, golf etc if you feel so inclined but there's more than enough to keep you active and interested for a whole day without having to reach into your pocket. The kids were asking to go again as we were driving out of the carpark so that's a 5 star review from them
What a great place for kids to blow off some steam. There are two sand based play areas for different age groups, nice paths around the lake with musical interactions to try out. Then the forest trails and wooden play areas are huge fun... Just car parking was a little expensive in my opinion.
We visited Moors Valley Country park on our way back home from Cornwall. The park has a lot of wooden play areas...its a lot of fun for kids. Go ape is also on site and the restaurant offers good variety of food and all that we order was really tasty. They only charge for the parking, we paid £11 for 4h or so. We would love to go back as we couldn't see everything. Great place for a day out with the kids.
Fabulous place for all the family, dogs to spend a day. Lots to do, explore. Very children interactive. Excellent facilities. Lots of parking but a bit expensive. Food, drink, snacks. Fabulous Steam Train ride but gotta pay extra for that, worth it. Had an absolutely fantastic day there, grandparents, dad, mum, 3yr old, 4 dogs. Playground: Lots of climbing stuff, sand, zip wires. Plus tree surfing. Restrooms: Disabled, baby facilities, plenty of toilets. Dog-friendliness: Trails, poo bins, water. Picnic area: Various different picnic areas with lots of picnic tables.
Lovely country park. Free to enter. Just pay for parking. Nice picnic area near the kiddies train station. Big playground there too. Toilets available, as well as a place to refill your water bottle. No place to throw your trash.. bring it back with you. The play trail with different themed playground every few 100m or so was great. Good day out for the kids. The kiosk to pay for parking was closed by the time we left so unfortunately we had to leave without paying for parking
Great park, different activities for all the family. Although we have small kids and mainly stayed on the play area, the park has lots of areas for all the family members. Beautiful wooden games in the forest where kids can explore and also play! Beautiful for walks. Pet friendly Highly recommended
Parking pricey but no entrance fees so worth it. Lots to see and do. Great ice creams, good cafe and toilets. Lots of accessible routes and more off road paths. Play areas and play trails free including gruffalo trail for younger children and exercise trail for older ones. Been several times and done different routes so feels like always somewhere new. Can pay to hire bikes, go mini train and do go ape. Parking easy. If mobility issues thoroughly recommend hiring a tramper - very sturdy, off road mobility scooter. Easy to hire for free if register. Staff very helpful.
Amazing park with several different trails to suit different ages and interests. Ice cream stall, visitor centre, gift shop, go ape bookings....all available and free to wander but parking is approx £12 if you stay more than just a couple of hours.
Great day out. Fantastic walks through the forest broken up by little play areas for the kids. Lovely little cafe for lunch too. Would recommend pre booking Go Ape if you are interested in doing that as it gets quite busy.
