I come from Montrose and have visited the (free to enter) Museum a number of times. Each time I visit I always tend to find something new. They run regular events and often have a new exhibition going on. On the last visit I wanted to take my budding geologist daughter(7) to see the agate slices that I remembered they had. Perfect timing as the museum had a large selection of agates and fossils on display at the front desk. My daughter was over the moon, but then the lady behind the desk came round and spoke to my daughter, answered questions, showed her pictures and let her open the display case and handle the fossils and agates. It really made her day. There was no rush, it was just someone that recognised a young person with a keen budding interest. We decided to purchase a few items and what a bargain they were. Nothing was inflated in price like a number of other places you visit as a parent. And most importantly my daughter came away asking when we could visit next. I love this museum, and I thank them for always making me welcome as a kid when I would spend a raining afternoon looking at the model boats and the basin exhibit. And now for making my daughter feel important and taking just that little bit of time to chat to her about fossils. Visit this place, walk slowly and enjoy.

My friends and I just loved this museum and we were blown away with the fantastic sculptures by William Lamb.

Great little museum, worth going to for a visit. They also do some AngusAlive activities and the staff are really friendly.
