My mother has now been a resident at Moncreiffe Care Home for three years and I am very happy with the quality of the care provided to her. Most of the staff are long serving and enjoy great relationships with my mum who thinks of them very much as "family". Mum is contented and well looked after. Norma and her staff are to be congratulated on having kept Moncreiffe Covid free - unlike all too many care homes.
My Grandmother was incredibly unhappy here. During her life she was a strong independant woman until she was admitted here at the age of 95. The staff here treated her like she wasn't doing enough for herself. She had lost all movement in her hands and legs. She was 100 percent mentally aware. She told us the staff were bullies and were really rough with her. It was heartbreaking to see her so unhappy here. Thankfully we got her out. It's supposed to be a "care" home. For my grandmother it was like a prison.
I work for Scotforce Healthcare and have been lucky enough to have been working here for the past month. It is a lovely home to work in. The staff, including the new manager, are so friendly and helpful. The care they give the residents is second to none. The residents themselves are a lovely bunch and the relatives I have met have been very grateful for the care their loved ones are receiving. Although I’m not currently looking for a permanent position, if I were Moncreiffe would definitely be a consideration.
If you love your loved ones, please do not put them into Moncrieffe care home! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had the misfortune to work here as a chef for six months and witnessed some truly shocking things. On my third shift the incompetent manageress brought her dog into the kitchen where it was able to eat off of the residents plates of food. I was absolutely shocked by this and asked other staff members if this was normal. It was normal for Norma McLeod the incompetent manageress to bring her dog in the kitchen as I witnessed this happen on countless occasions over the six months and reported this to the necessary agencies. I saw Norma bully, shout at and name call residents and family members behind their backs. Roll her eyes when they came towards the door but upon entry she would be all smiles and very fake. She only wants residents that sit in chairs all day because anyone able to walk freely around the home would be an inconvenience to her and the carers . I witnessed residents being restraint in chairs who were able to walk about , shocking just honestly shocking. The families need to exactly what goes on in this so called care home. Please do not send your family members here. If Norma took a dislike to you, she make that staff members life hell until they would have had enough and they would leave. So many fantastic staff members have left and Nurses brilliant nurses all because of this disgusting woman. She would eat before any residents had ate and I found myself on a few occasions not having enough to give residents a proper portion of food. I'm so glad I walked out and didn't need a reference from her because she would have done the same to as she has done to so many others. Given a poor and untrue response .
My grandparents both moved here together 7years ago both aged 93 years, sadly my grandmother passed away nearly 3 years ago however my grandfather still lives there. He will be 100 years old this coming May. The level of care provided to both of them I can only describe as outstanding from the management and all the carer's. There has not been a single case of covid due to the high standards of the care home and Us as a family take great comfort knowing our loved one is so well taken care of.
Being mental health nurse I have to believe that everyone deserves second, even third or another chance and I hope the matters and especially the morale is much improved now. Healthcare workers and other professionals should be non-judgemental of the clients and similarly at their work. Non-selective compassion, empathy and human warmth should be always on display. We are paid to care for people the best we can, do the job to the best of our abilities as patiently as possible. It might be not always or humanly possible for some at all times but trying is what matters too.
My father has recently moved into Moncreiffe Care Home. He receives excellent care delivered by fantastic, very approachable nurses and carers . All staff ensure my father is given plenty time for all his needs to be met. Staff are well trained, very smart and courteous. Any issues are always promptly resolved. Excellent Matron in place who has a great overview and knowledge of everything that is happening within her care home.
I would endorse all that Vit has said. He was the best nurse The Moncrieff Home has had from the past four years; along with a recent exodus of fight other excellent nurses who could not take the manager - with her vicious and utter disgusting verbal abuse. I, too, have often witnessed and personally suffered such intolerable behaviour worthy of dismissal time and again. One nurse came to me actually crying at the bullying she received : and a more highly qualified person too. Certainly the manageress is no stranger to verbally abusing the staff at all levels, cleaning, kitchen etc.. Worse still to the resident's families and friends to their face and behind their backs. I can confirm more than ten persons so abused but worse this is often discussed among her "favourite carers" The original killer of morale in any environment. It is imperative to expose what what is a narcissistic person totally obsessed with her own power despite her protestation about being over 10 years in the post, shows no care of genuine interest in her job, but we resident's families, nurses, ancillary staff that complain to the care commission, social work, nurses council, and police - We cannot all be wrong?
Both my Mum and Dad were residents at Moncrieffe care home for about 7 years. Sadly they have both now passed away but i really can't fault Norma and all her staff for all the care my Mum and Dad received they were very well looked after and happy. Thank you all so much again for all they done for them.
This place is the pits. My Granny had a terrible time here & was so unhappy. Some staff were nasty & showed no respect. My Granny's words were they are rough with me. Unfortunately due to covid it took longer to get her out of here but thankfully we did. Does not deserve the one star I have given but wouldn't let me post unless I pressed one.
