Because Mister Lasagna is, in essence, a fast food place whose model revolves around the reheating of their lasagna, etc., don't expect the food to be ultra fresh. In fact, we can confirm that every dish brought out to us was luke warm at best. Reheating any type of food, particular lasagna it seems, isn't a good idea at the best of times, made worse when it's involves a restaurant's business model. If anything, Mister Lasagna is perfect in proving the stark difference between freshly made and reheated lasagna. Unfortunately, the desserts are also premade and certainly not the restaurant's forte. What's fair, however, are the prices, which seem to be a good reflection of the quality of the food and the nature of the business, i.e. fast food, thereby making it super value for money in central London. But, is the trade off between the price and the quality of the food worth it? Or would you prefer to pay that little bit extra and have something relatively freshly made? We won't bother with a Menu Recommendation, except to say that we'll only recommend, from the Halal options, the Genovese Lasagna all the way. HALAL STATUS: Parmigiano Reggiano, which contains non-Halal animal rennet, is used as a topping in some dishes.
Nice delicacies from Italy and delicious lasagna with different fillings. Spacious seating inside the restaurant which is not visible from outside the restaurant. Friendly staff and helpful!
The lasagnes are already made and sitting at the counter, they’re just whacked into a toaster oven or microwave when you order. As a result, the sheets of pasta could peel off from the meat and sauce which doesn’t really scream quality. They’re also a bit too salty for my taste, but there’s a wide variety so I may have picked out some bad ones. Try if you’re curious about the strange fillings, but don’t expect too much.
Very expensive for microwaved lasagne that was still cold in the middle and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. We also paid £9 for the gluten free option which believe it or not was also microwaved but they couldn't be arsed to serve it up properly so it was just thrown on a paper plate with the film still on. Absolutely disgusting. Avoid at all costs.
Lasagna used to be one of my favourite Italian dish when I was much younger. These stacked layers of pasta filled with cheese is really fulfilling and it fits right for my appetite. As I grew older, lasagna gradually disappear from my food selections as it is often a luxury to have Western food in South East Asia countries local cuisines are usually cheaper. Fast forward to present time as a young adult, my friends invited me to Mister Lasagna in London, and I thought this might be a chance to reignite my love for lasagna. The Mushroom lasagna and Bolognese lasagna were among our orders. Correct me if I am wrong, but in spite of the wide selections of lasagna dishes, I realised these lasagna really lacked freshness. The taste is still there somewhat, yes, but it's so disheartening to have lasagna prepared and served in such manner. This is precisely the Italian version of Wasabi in London. This will be an addition to my experimental data, for me to validate my grand hypothesis: The UK specialises in ruining cuisines originated from other parts of the world.
Very interesting place, I thought is just a toy shop, in fact is a big restaurant downstairs, the decorations are great, makes you relaxed and comfortable, that's the key to enjoy food and company..
Surprisingly good food here. Try their lagsana.
The lasagna is super yummy and the service is great. I got the truffle one.
Visited this little place a number of times to get a lasagna take away, been very happy with the service and food until now. I think they have a new manager / staff member, who I found to be abrupt, and didn't possess the customer service standards I have experienced in the past, and expected today. The lady made a big deal out of a small issue, and certainly didn't make me feel a valued customer. I will try one of the other branches and hope to experience better service in future.
The food is okay. I won’t be shouting at the top of my lungs praising it. The portions are large enough to feed a hungry farmer and the variety is diverse enough to find something suiting your taste. However, the server was a little stingy on the sauce so meal end up dry. I wish I could remember the food better apart from the dryness. In short, it’s rather forgettable.
