Read some bad review about this place and we thought okay lets take some risk tonight. So we ordered through just eat for collection. We still have to wait longer then the expected time. The food, we ordered set meal for 2 £19. 1Prawn toast - way too thin... can't taste any prawn. 2Lemon chicken - my hubby loves the sauce but i am not keen. 3Happy Family - surprising good, the prawns taste fresh and the bbq pork were so thick and tasty. But i didnt like the chicken. 4Szechun beef - i like the sweet and slightly chilli taste. 5 egg fried rice - nothing special a d hubby asked where's the egg lol 6 prawn crackers - not my fav... and taste oily. Overall was okay at least i like those 2 main dishes... i will definately give it another go...
So I ordered on their own website and paid, went to collect and they are fully closed. So they have stolen my money. I'm furious. I will never go here again. Just received a text saying they will refund my money in 5 days. Fuming. This is not what you expect from your favourite Chinese restaurant. I'll never order here again. Avoid at all costs.
Always enjoyed Mings until recently! After receiving a promotional text of 10% off online orders, we treated ourselves. The confirmation email came through, the money was taken but 2hrs later still no food so we called but no answer. To make it even worse, the takeaway wasn't even open everything is closed.
We ordered our food with ease and at a great speed from ordering the first item to getting to checkout and paying. We were given a timeframe of 45 minutes for delivery and we understood it may take a little longer due to the current issues that businesses face. We were still waiting after an hour and a half so I checked the current status of the delivery by using the tracking option on the website, we were then greeted with a message on the website that they were now closed which wasn't there when we ordered. We tried ringing with no success so we ventured out to the shop to be told that they had sent it out and was on it's way to our house. We got home and after waiting a further 25 minutes, the food arrived. We had no issues with the food and was all present and correct as per what we ordered. We will use them again in the future with hopefully better delivery.
We have ordered from mings garden a few times and have never had any issue. I placed an order on 30/04/2021 and when it arrived, found out that there were missing items. I called the restaurant to complain about this and was told that they could bring the missing items but had no idea how long this would take. They then offered to give a small discount and said "We can go to the chip shop to make up for the missing food". When I said I wasnt happy with this, they offered to come back and get the food and give me a refund but when I agreed to this, the man on the phone backtracked I'm assuming they didnt want to send a driver back out and told me they would give me a full refund that he would authorise and then just put the phone down. I have been waiting a week and still havent received the refund so called the restaurant again only for them to tell me that I should have contacted just eat directly. I have done this and found out that I only had 72 hours to report a complaint and therefore it couldnt be processed any further. It feels like this was just mings gardens way of avoiding having to give a refund out. As mentioned before, I have ordered from here before with no issues and, had their customer service been as it should be, this wouldnt be such a big problem but it just feels like mings garden dont care about customer satisfaction as long as they get their money. Ill be avoiding here from now on
DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. They must have some serious problems going on either money issues or family issues. We order from here all the time at least once or twice a week this is the only chinese we order from. We ordered tonight and the egg fried rice was missing. I rang up to ask where it was to be shouted at saying I was lying and hung up on me. So I rang back to see if they were sending it out for the lady to shout in Chinese for about 5 minutes I couldn't even get a word in. So my partner took the food back round to get are money back and to show them the order. The owner was calling him a liar and shouting telling him to get out. They also had a 1* food hygiene rating a few months back but as we had always been happy with there food we carried on given them are custom. WE WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN AFTER HOW WE WERE TREATED. Half hour later they sent there delivery driver round offering us free food saying how sorry they were. But to little to late there service is shocking.
My family were visiting from Birmingham and we decided to order from Mings Garden on 13 May. My order came without the sauce I had ordered, but the restaurant were very prompt at rectifying this; sending a driver out as soon as they could. However, it was while we were waiting the 20 minutes for this to arrive, that we realised that the food that had been arrived was below expectation and standard. Nothing was fresh. The chips and spring rolls were stale, chicken dry, and sweet and sour chicken also flagging up a big sign shouting "I was made days ago!" When the delivery driver arrived with the sauce, i tried to give the food back to him, and said I wanted a refund. In a case of 'don't shoot the messenger' the delivery driver said he couldn't help as he just delivers, and recommended I contact the restaurant directly. This is when trouble ensued. I was met with nothing but abuse. I was confronted for making the complaint, with the lady down the phone saying "first you complain about the sauce, now you're complaining about the food." I politely told her that I am not one for complaining, and don't usually like doing so, but on this occasion, the food was simply inedible. I requested a refund and was refused. They justified this by saying no other customer had complained about the food, so there isn't an issue with it. I brought the matter to the attention of just eat. They did their best to represent me and reasoned with the restaurant. They concluded that the restaurant would consider a refund if we bring the food back. As I was without a vehicle, this was troublesome, so asked if the restaurant could send out a driver. Again they refused. While this was occurring, we had a very hungry 6 year old who was getting to a point where he had to eat as soon as possible. So he ate a very small portion of the sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice that, although were not great, were much better quality and standard than any of the rest of the food. So with only a mere 10% of the food gone, finally I had access to a car and so brought the food back. No surprise, we were met by abuse. The owner said that because a small portion of our £25 order had been eaten, he refused to refund the rest. But indeed took the food back. After some back and forth, and terrible abuse from the staff, we were told we would be credited half of the cost as a refund, which would be done through just eat. The lady told us 'you're getting your refund, now get out now' 5 days later and I still have not received a refund. I've tried calling the restaurant, but they are playing ignorant. I brought this to the attention of just eat, who again phoned the restaurant on our behalf, and the owner told them that we had eaten 80% of the food and then proceeded to berate the rep at just eat. This issue has still not been sorted. And now I have ended up paying for a meal for 3 that was returned to the restaurant. Terrible terrible place, rude staff and awful food. Ought to be shut down. Reported to food standard agency, and suggest others do too. This place should not be trading. Letitia
Been waiting over 3 hours for food after ordering and paying online. Cannot get through to their phone so my money is gone. Used to love ordering from here but never will again.
Nice friendly service, gave us free coke and prawn crackers. We ordered on the phone and picked up in store was ready on time. Good amount of meat in the meet dishes, tofu was tastey.
Just ordered from this place. The man who answered the phone talks very quick and I can't understand him so I politely tell him that i cant understand you please talk slower and he got angry and aggressive. I then realised what he was saying and told him the order is incorrect and I want to change the order but he got angry and said he already started cooking 3 mins Into it so I couldn't change it. Anyway the food has just arrived delivery driver was lovely but just opened food and it's not what I ordered even though I told him it was wrong and explained what I wanted. I asked for house special chowmein and got happy family and seperate skinny noodles so it's similar but I have had to pay triple the amount for it. House special has meat and sauce and noodles together so is all in one meal Food is nice but customer service is not good but he is the owner so u can't complain to anyone so he gets away with it. He was Very angry and aggressive and can't understand him to be able to order what I wanted. Advice to this place you need to get someone on the phone who is polite and speak well so your customers understand what there saying and they understand what the customer is asking for as this is the most important part of your business along with the food otherwise you will lose customers. Also when a customer says the order is wrong you can't say it's to late as it's already cooking after 3 mins. I should not of paid for it and said I didn't want it. So it's my own fault but I won't be making this mistake again. First and last time ordering from this place. Be aware hygiene rateing is 2 Area inspected by food safety officer=Standards found Hygienic food handling Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage =Improvements necessary
