Lovely place for a short walk/family walk. Paths becoming overgrown in places meaning paths also aren't drying out as quickly as other places. Wear suitable footwear.
Lovely woods, small paths, lots of wildlife
We were driving past there last sunday afternoon and decided to have a look. what we noticed overwhelmingly is the sheer amount of DOG POO litttering the footpath everywhere on both sides all the way up to the fields. obviously a dog walkers paradise but their owners to D@mn lazy so an unpleasant experience!! ... On a more positive note the fields and rolling meadows are beautiful with the wildflowers etc. we shall go back but its a matter of dodging the dog sh_te ...............
Firstly, I want to apologise for using this platform to voice my concerns. Stoulton Woods is a lovely, peaceful place to take your family and walk your dogs; I have been there a handful of times with my wife and child and have always had a great time. However, on Tuesday 28th July, 2020, at approximately 16:00, whilst taking my dog for a walk with my three year old son, Lola, my puppy, was attacked by two, very large, golden retrievers. Lola suffered some terrible injuries, my dog's leg is now broken, and she is now in surgery. What is even more tragic is that Lola, whom we have only had for five and a half weeks, will have to spend six weeks in a cage in order to fully recuperate. This is not the life for any dog, especially for a sweet natured, kind hearted dog, such as Lola. The owner of these golden retrievers was nowhere to be seen – yes, these unruly dogs were not on their lead – but on speaking to two very kind people, who were also walking their dogs, they believe the owner is local to the area who frequents Stoulton Woods quite often. I have informed the relevant authorities of what has happened, and they are keen to speak to the lady who owns the dogs, and hopefully reprimand her, as my fear is that this could happen again; my dog’s operation could cost upwards of £4000 thank God we have insured her. Furthermore, if these dogs were to have charged at a small child, such as my three year old son, then I dread to think the injuries they could cause them. Therefore, please be vigilant when going to Stoulton Woods, as I would not like you, or your pet, to go through the trauma that my dog has. This incident has also upset my son who did not deserve to witness this incident. Finally, if anyone has any information regarding whom the owner of these dogs are two, very boisterous, golden retrievers then could you please reply to my comment, as Wychavon council are very keen to speak to this woman. Thank you.
A great walk, either with a dog or without.nNo views, at least for us, but a sense of being in the woods and loads of butterflies.
