Be prepared for the stench of piss on the stairs like you're visiting some sort of animal barn. Free on a Saturday, but at your own risk. Quite a lot of kids hanging out here
Really not very welcoming, and no immediately obvious signage to guide you into the town or the sea front once you've parked. The lift didn't work, either. I felt quite relieved to find the car intact when we went back! Good thing it's closed at 7, because I'm not sure I'd fancy using it after dark. Welcome to Margate? Don't think so!
Bit empty making it hard to choose where to park and lacking in atmosphere, but on the plus side couldn't smell any piss. Bit disappointed we couldn't find the drug and alcohol service previously mentioned. Also, wasn't expecting the foul language, so won't be taking the kids - unless someone could have word?
Car Park is FREE on Saturdays only. Unfortunately we came in Sunday so had no idea this was the case. The car park runs on pay and display so there are no barriers to come in or out. They do use RING GO app to pay but there is a machine which use can use cash or card to pay. I would recommend you use the app as you can top up the parking. The park is a short 7 minute walk to the beach so not far. MICH QUIETER THAN DREAMLAND CAR PARK WHICH WAS FULL!
Pretty nice place to take photos of Margate when on the top of the car park, usually free,nLower levels of the car park are usually dirty.
