Fantastic venue. I took my son here whist having a break in London. It was a great find and will definitely go again. We visited on a Friday morning during the kids Christmas holidays and it wasn't busy. I was surprised by the excellent set up. From the professionalism of the staff making sure everyone is kept safe to the huge range of routes to climb. It is set over several rooms packed from floor to ceiling quite literally, there are rooms where you have to climb across the celling from one side to the other. The venue has options for all abilities from young children and first timers to professional climbers. The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful whist remaining professional ensuring everyone is safe. The session cost just £7 which includes climbing shoe higher which is fantastic value, and very surprising being in London with such a great set up. Refreshments are available and are reasonably priced too which is another nice surprise as other venues like this usually charge a premium for a captive audience. There is also a separate sauna area which can be added on to the visit or used on its own and costs about £10 and offer a climb and sauna bundle or a few quid more and plan on giving it a try on my next visit. I think this would be great venue for a corporate team building experience and also for stag and hen parties before any drinking of course. To sum up If you want to try climbing for the first time or want something to do on a rainy day go and give it a try.
Went there on a spontaneous trip, didn’t realise it was the UK’s first climbing centre with some historical bits of wall. They have a good range of walls, showers and a sauna can’t say much about the sauna, only went there for coffee and climbing. Seating area is available if you just wanted to catch up on laptop stuff whilst doing coffee before/after climbing.
Spent the day with Laura and Georgia doing the top rope beginners course. Had a lovely day from start to finish and learned everything I could possibly need. A brilliant introduction and amazing jump off point for climbing in the future. Already planned our next trip back.
Cozy bouldering gym with a few auto-belay routes. Staff was nice. Heard that it's the oldest climbing gym in town - way to go :
Lovely place even for beginners. My kids really enjoyed it. I can see we become regulars.
Friendly, fun, fabulous. Really Great Wall that’s evolved over the years but retains its welcoming approach. Great routesetters with regular resets and lots of wall space.
I brought my son here to climb while on vacation. He loved it ! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Was great to meet new people! Thanks for the great experience!
I received a warm welcome into the gym, price was acceptable 13£ in 03/2022, there was plenty of various routes, mainly for bouldering. The rope climbing seemed to be rather low and limited but I didn't go for that one. There was plenty of overhangs and variety of difficulties. The bouldering was rather high. The gym was clean and appropriately warm. Showers were also available and clean. You can lock your stuff in lockers for 1£ deposit.
Fantastic experience, thoroughly enjoyed the time and it was such a great idea for an active day out. Not bad for the first time, lovely support available should you need it. Lots of space to practice and challenge yourself, you can also enjoy light refreshments available on-site. Definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again.
This is a very interesting climbing centre, with loads of different areas and types of walls to climb on! As I start to travel the country more and visit more climbing gyms, it has made me realise what a special place Mile End Climbing Wall is! The traverse wall is quite a unique experience! Check it out if you are ever nearby!
