We had fish and chips tonight 11th September 2024.nI had gluten free. Ordered last night, took 2 hours to get to us with multiple calls to chase. It wasn’t even a big order, just one piece of fish, one pie, & a large battered sausage. The fish was lovely, but the pie had blatantly just been shoved in the microwave - it was rubbery and inedible. The battered sausage tasted like it was left over from the day before; rubbery inedible batter and a cold sausage. The gravy had zero flavour. We’re really disappointed. We went in today to have a friendly chat about it, as we’ve been customers for years. We were met with a refusal to accept any wrong-doing and no apology. A long wait is more acceptable at the weekend, but not in a Tuesday night! If you can’t deliver, then don’t take orders for delivery, we would have collected if you’d rung us to warn of the long wait.
Been coming here as it’s now our local fish n chip place since we moved into the village in 2023, and it’s never disappointed. My partner and various guests have basically had the entire menu now and we’ve not had a complaint about any dish! I love the mini cod and chips - £6 for a decent portion, brilliant value. We’ll be regulars for a long time!
Rarely do you find such a busy and friendly takeaway. Top service from all the staff. Ordered a small doner kebab, delicious chilli sauce, definitely will be returning very soon.
Stopped by at Mikes on the way home from work. It was 10 minutes past their closing time and the team were clearing up. I was about to walk away after seeing they close at 9 fair enough - I’m there late however they saw me and were amazing!! They opened up and served me superb food, with a smile and wished me well on my journey home. I’m so grateful for their superb customer service. Thank you!!
