Great place for walk along the river or just around the common. Great views and plenty of space but can get busy especially at weekends.
Pleasant Riverside walk with seats facing the river grassy areas for kids and a picnic. You can cycle there too.
Lovely park at the south of town. Came with you children, it is safe, but be aware is that there are no hand rails at the river borders.

Great space! Lots of pathways and not very muddy. Does have a lot of grassy area should you wish to get stuck in though. Fairly central to the main part of the city and has some good coffe stops and pubs surrounding, all depends which side you're on.
