Midlothian Roofing installed a large velux window for us. This is our first property and we've only been in it 3 months so I was rather nervous about having such major works carried out. I wanted to make sure it was carried out by a reliable company so I approached Midlothian Roofing due to them being certified by Velux. John the estimator quickly arranged to come out and do the survey. Prompt communication then followed with a couple of quotes for different options and a date booked in. The roofers, Stuart and Jordan, arrived promptly on the arranged date all ready to go and go straight to it. I was immediately apparent that Stuart is very experienced at these types of work and immediately put my mind at ease. Both Stuart and Jordon were very friendly and professional and a delight to have in our home during the works. They were great at keeping us informed of progress and what was going to happen next. The job was finished on time and they left the place very tidy. Our house is an old miners cottage which has a very sooty loft space and I can't overstate how much I appreciate the effort they made to minimise the amount of suit that came down from the loft when they cut the plasterboard. All in all, I am very pleased with the work carried out and I wouldn't hesitate to use Midlothian Roofing in the future. Thank you!
Guys came out and done the roof and skylight no problems haven't been on the roof Alas down pipes were supposed to be cleared out,they weren't they were only cleared the first 5 feet i had to do it myself. Gutter was leaking at joint 4 attempts to fix it its now all crooked and worse than before.I was then told i need a quote to get gutter realigned. Was part of the job to be done I said no thanks. We had a very positive experience with the company, all the staff we had an interaction with were nice, pleasant people, it started with the first visit, the estimator was a nice local chap with a lovely personality, the guys that carried out the work were two young lads but again kept us informed of the progress of the work being carried out, the replacement of two velux windows, the work that was carried out was top class and they tidied up after themselves and found it to be of a very professional standard then finally the lady I dealt with in the office too was lovely, courteous and friendly, another of our relations also had a positive experience with the company, highly recommend.
I had used this firm before and hoped they would be just as good on the next job. However, they damaged our property on arrival when reversing the van, the ladder on the roof went through our front wall, and also created another issue with a door opening. They promised to sort these, but a lot of time passed before anything was done. In the end we hired someone else to sort one of the problems. A poor quality repair was done to fix the damage caused to our home, and the work was done without our knowledge when we were not in, which is very unusual. At all times the approach seemed to be that the customer is wrong and their firm has nothing to do with causing issues. Won't use again, be careful, record everything they do if you hire them - just in case you need future evidence against their workmanship.

The repairs themselves started on schedule and the men worked diligently to get the job complete, tidying up thoroughly before they left. I’ve found both the office staff and trades I’ve had contact with to be professional, helpful and polite. I’d have no hesitation using MRSL again or recommending them to others.
Fantastic professional company to use, very quick response to provide a free detailed estimate. When the work was carried out, the roofer arrived on time & kept us informed of the progress throughout the day. As well as replacing tiles, they repaired damaged guttering.
