I don't know if they were having a bad day but the staff were the most miserable, unhelpful and lazy people I've ever encountered at a recycling centre. In fact I'd go as far as to say ignorant and rude. I don't know if coming out of the office and off their phones would help them to crack a smile? Being disabled I felt it would have been curtesy to offer a hand but they literally just watched me struggle, eyeing what I was putting in the skips without even acknowledging what a difficult time I was having with the wooden units and cabinets. I was the ONLY customer there at the time!
Staff are always helpful. Site often busy, so the white lines painted to show parking spots and footpaths was a really good idea, well done all.
A useful and compact waste and recycling centre, right next to the Trent & Mersey Canal. Unfortunately this is one of the few canal accessible sites which will take large items like fridges or cookers, so the news they are closing on 1st April 2024 is very disappointing. Boaters will need to go to Anderton services, Harecastle tunnel south entrance, Bunbury or Nantwich on the Shropshire Union, or Hurleston on the Llangollen Canal for normal rubbish.
The system of permits for vans could be a little better,nnAnd I was met o my fist vist by a young man who hD recently started, he did not know the supervisor could issue one, so I returned home and completed the application received an email and returned to the tip.nNo problem.nThere is a gentleman called Dave who was magnificent areal worker every one who came spoke to him and it was obvious he is a great asset to the place.nHe certainly helped me and others while I was there.
The staff are always very helpful and pleasant despite having to deal with some rude and obnoxious members of the public
