A really lovely place set in a picturesque location. There are 3 different eating areas to choose from, the main bar, the old original restaurant and a new brasserie extension with fantastic views. 9 of us sat in the brasserie for my daughter's birthday celebration. The bar and original restaurant had roaring open fires which were perfect for a chilly November evening. The menu had an excellent selection of meals and we were all very happy with our choices.......I can recommend the Mussels ! There is also a good selection of drinks and both the food and drinks were reasonably priced. The food was piping hot and all our meals arrived together. The staff were professional and very friendly and attentive. All in all, we'd thoroughly recommend the Middle House and will certainly be back again soon. Thanks for a lovely evening
Really nice staff but mediocre in every other way. Toilets had overflowing bin. Dirty skirtings and walls around sink. No blinds. Looks tired. Food pretty poor. Chicken pie tasty but really hard dry pastry with lumps of hard overcooked chicken breast tip to chef -use thighs in a pie. Burger dry and tasteless despite being home made. Massive cheap frozen chips. Wine Pinot Grigio rough and not nice. We decided not to waste more money on deserts. Would not return.
Went yesterday, service amazing, however the food let this place down in a big way, the chicken burger was good but the pudding was let's just say a bit plastic, having found a piece of plastic inside my chocolate fondant it ruined the whole meal couldn't wait to leave to be honest.Food: 1/5

We’ve been coming to the middle house for maybe eight or nine years and the quality of the food is outstanding and consistent. Top-notch pub food. We hadn’t been over the two-year pandemic period and we were a bit worried that things may have changed over that time. We were very pleased to find that the quality is still absolutely there! We also discovered their breakfast so we thought we would give it a go. Hands down the best breakfast we’ve had. Not only is the produce locally sourced, but it is absolutely delicious and well portioned. Add to this the brilliant terrace at the back of the pub which overlooks the lush valley behind and you will be forgiven for thinking you’re at some luxury holiday destination.
Met Ben by chance, so full of passion and pride we thought we'd better give this place a try. Not at all disappointed. Welcome food atmosphere and service top rate. Middle House has a friendly, almost "local" feel, the food looked on the plate like generously portioned five star restaurant and certainly tasted like it but didn't cost like it! Really recommend this Hotel/pub/restaurant for a drink and lunchtime sandwich in the lovely garden or a full blown meal in one of the very different dining areas.
Lovely food, amazing setting, faultless service. The bedrooms are Elizabethan, unpretentiously furnished and with pleasant en suite shower and loo. Excellent breakfasts, which are popular with non residents. Set in a charming village and all at a very reasonable price. We will return again and again.
If you are looking for somewhere special that offers a delicious menu and great service. Look no further. With wonderful views and a fabulous ambience. We look forward to visiting again very soon
Had a lovely Evening Dinner with Friends Table for Four all the meals were perfect lovely Helpful Staff Great Food .
