DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE! If I could post 0 stars, I would! Had my sandals for 7 weeks and one split. Called the shop and refund was refused because I'd worn the shoes so it was too late to return! Isn't that what you do with shoes?! I told him the sandals were faulty as I've worn them less than 10 times. Owner didn't even ask to see photos, despite the fact the sandals are now unwearable. He said "I only sell the shoes I don't make them". When I explained he is responsible because he sells them, he put the phone down on me!
BUYER BEWARE: No refunds only exchanges. Owner Frank charmed/pushed me into buying multiple dresses after only trying on one insisting he knows woman’s bodies and how they fit. I went back to the hotel and showered and then tried on dresses, so as not to mess them up. Only one fit, so I walked back to the store to return but why had closed early due to the heat. I then went to return them this afternoon once they opened up to have Frank show me the no refund sign very tiny under the cash register and tell me there was nothing he could do. He was rude in how he was speaking to me and continually changed his policies, as to what suited him. I ended up having to exchange the dresses so I could at least get gifts since the dresses did not fit me. Beware Frank is charming at first, but clearly does not have respect for tourists or women in general.
I never go clothes shopping but was looking for a maxi small print dress whilst on holiday. Initially I browsed the shop and immediately liked 2 dresses but I thought were a bit pricey. I returned to the shop and I tried them on. I felt lovely in them and they fitted beautiful. They are well made and the quality of the material is really good. As I say it's not often i buy clothes so I thought what they hell im buying both of the dresses. The gentleman of the shop was really cheerful and helpful and I saw a scarf for my mum and he said have that for free as you have bought these dresses. I am thrilled..these dresses I will be able to wear in the summer and spring, good all round dresses. They have a range of unique dresses. Thank you Miss Diva I am a very happy lady.
If I could, I'd put zero stars. Very similar experience to other reviews in as much as the owner charmed in the shop but then his attitude when trying to return an item was totally dismissive and rude. My daughter went into this shop and tried on a dress that had a button missing, making it difficult to tell the fit of the dress. Frank then found the same dress that had the button in place but maintained this did not need to be tried on and persuaded my daughter to buy it, which she did. After returning home which is 2.5 hours away from York, my daughter tried this dress on and it did not fit correctly. She rang Frank, explained the situation, and politely asked if she could return the dress via post at her expense in exchange for a refund, to which the answer was no and he could only offer a credit note which was not explained at point of purchase. On the phone he was dismissive, rude and had no respect for my daughter which upset her as he was so charming in the shop. I then called Frank back to politely ask if he could provide a refund given the circumstances, which he could easily have chosen to do, but again he refused with the same dismissive attitude. In addition, the same dress was £10 cheaper on his website, and £23 cheaper on another big online retailer, despite Frank telling my daughter this dress was not available anywhere else. The worst retail experience ever.
I have previously shopped at Miss Diva with no issues apart from feeling intimated by the owner, but after my last visit on the 14/04/2022 I will not be returning ever! I had popped in with my niece as we had some time to kill, as she like me in the past had fallen in love with the window display too. But unfortunately, upon entering the shop with her we were met with nothing but hostile words from the owner. He refused to even let us look at dresses, then when my niece was harmlessly looking at some heels he suddenly appeared like he had been following us around and told her not to touch any or even think of tying any on, before basically then ordering us out of his shop. As he also believed I wasn't an adult either, even though he said he recognised me from the times I've been in the shop previously! So we left, but because of him my niece was crying as all she wanted to do was look at the pretty things with me. Vile intimating owner, don't fall for his charm if you go in! Also if there is any girls wanting a prom dress go to Molly Brown's I'll say to, it may be expensive but at least your getting a dress you actually want, that's worth the price too and won't have zips causing issues like the ones in miss diva. Hope this helps everyone!
I stumbled on this store while in York for the day with my Husband. There was a lovely dress in the window that drew me in. I asked to try on the dress and the owner could not have been more helpful. I tried on the larger size as I am normally a size 16, it fitted and would have been happy to buy it but was encouraged by the owner to try on a size smaller, I was dubious but it turned out he was spot on, the dress looked even better in the smaller size and that made me feel good about myself too . I know if I loved in York I'd buy a whole lot more from here.
In York for the day and at the last hour found this amazing shop. A huge range of beautiful dresses clothes shoes and accessories. Using the finest materials. Owner was sooo helpful and brilliant crack as was the assistant. Had a laugh and walked away with unusual high quality dresses. We will be ordering online and may even pop back to York just to shop there. Highly recommended
This man ought to be ashamed of himself my mother bought a dress over this weekend she took it back as it was to small be basically told my mam she was too big for the dresses in his shop and refused to give her a refund but said she could spend the balance on something else, as there was some change left over and nothing to buy for £5 he was told to put it in the charity box... He didn't push it all the way in and was seen taking it back out before my mother even left the shop...... Disgusting attitude and behaviour
This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star! The guy seems charming at first but is massively intimidating and basically forces you to buy his clothing. Claims it’s okay to return the item and get your money back but fails to mention that you have to spend that money in store again. And his only proof of evidence to support this is a tiny little sticker he has saying no refunds at the front of the till. Absolutely shocking service and will never be returning and will be making sure no one I know does as well!
I wish I could give -100 stars. I went into this store on my lunch break to try and find a dress for my partners presentation evening, I opted to try a couple on. All the while the owner was trying to get me to try on other things, maybe to some this wouldn't be a big deal but my anxiety is awful and I struggled with his intense personality. He then asked me to show him everything I tried on and it was clear the dress I had origionally picked didn't fit me properly, however he told me it looked perfect and got me to dress up even though I stated I was in a hurry. I told him I didn't like one of the two dressed HE narrowed it down to and stated that the other which I liked didn't fit properly. He said "you can always bring it back". I had a bit of a cry in the changing room while getting dressed again as I felt really uncomfortable and I was also late going back to work. When I came out of the changing room he had already found me earings etc to go with the outfit and had them at the till to which I drew the line and said no. The dress came through the register at £120. Way out of my budget, he didn't tell me the price or make me aware of his apparent NO REFUND POLICY even though he claerly stated I could take the dress back. So the next day I asked my partner to return the dress for me, she was belittled, intimidated and had a voice risen at her. As I wasn't there I cannot vouch for the way he spoke to her but my girlfriend is non-confrontational and having worked in retail understands the job so wouldn't treat anyone in that environment or anyone at all poorly. She told him he forced me to buy a dress I didn't like and that due to my anxiety I felt I had been taken advantage of. He said he didn't care and that it was my own problem. I'm upset as I've bought from him before and he's always seemed reasonable, I'll never go there again and strongly advise anyone I so much as see glance through his window not to shop there either.
