Just got my - A License - thanks to these guys. All the instructors are astonishingly experienced and on a always busy place like this I would never expect for people to be so friendly. I just want to leave special thanks to Chris, the man in charge of training, who went completely out of his way to help me. Thank you Chris and to the whole team at Metropolis Motorcycles
I have been a Metropolis client for few years now and I cannot recall a bad experience. The minute in which I walked in the shop a few years back to buy my bike and then to their service department to have it fixed and checked, I knew I was going to have great experiences. The staff are super friendly and they value their customers. Ian has been of great help and understanding on many occasions and always ready to explain things over and give advice. There is also another extremely helpful guy in the service department that I'm not sure of his name.. I booked my bike test with Chris who has made the booking extremely easy, hassle free and mostly immensely friendly. He has followed my needs from the first email to my exam day and that really made me feel valued. During training days I was allocated Mark C. Mark is a very knowledgeable, patient, clear in his explanations and caring instructor. He has many years of experience but I could tell his dedication and passion for what he does has definitely not faded with the years. He was showing commitment and enthusiasm as if that one was his first day at work. I learned a few riding skills and cleared some bad habits thanks to his lessons and those helped me to complete my tests successfully. Thank you Mark and everyone I've dealt with at Metropolis, please keep the hard work going: it's much appreciated : Evelin
Having decided to look into purchasing a motorbike, I spoke with a number of different motorcycle dealers - both individual brand dealers and multi-brand dealers. From the several dealers I spoke with, non compared to the high-level service I received from Ian Harrington at Metropolis Motorcycles and I’m sure I’m joined by many other very satisfied customers. I had next to no knowledge of motorbikes and Ian was more than happy to spend as much time as I needed to understand even the most basic of knowledge. I spoke with a number of dealers that gave me the impression that they were looking for a “quick sell” and loyalty to the customer almost seemed non-existent NOT METROPOLIS. I can say that this was not the case with Ian - he talked me through my options from start to finish, completely understanding the fact that I was new to the arena and was extremely generous with his time and advice. I never felt like I was being pushed into a sale and felt that I could trust his advice from our first discussion. This customer service meant that I did not speak to another dealer following our first conversation – I didn’t feel it necessary to. I would also add that I received the same service from Fiona/Andy in the clothing department, good advice without pushing for a sell and additional discount for purchasing both bike and clothing. In fact, I visited Metropolis 4 times before I actually agreed to move forward with the purchase of a new Honda CBF 125 and all my clothing/equipment. Ian has even contacted me since the purchase to check everything was running smoothly and to see if I had any additional questions/issues. A nice touch that I wouldn’t necessarily expect. I would highlight recommend Ian Harrington and Metropolis to anyone immediately. You will cut down on time wasted and will received a very personal approach to the sales process. Thanks for your help!
Fantastic training - did the 2 day course for Mod1 and went back to them for the 2 day Mod2 course. The bikes they train you are on well maintained and they've a big enough fleet to replace your bike should they need to. Training staff are knowledgeable and friendly - had Mark for my Mod1 and Chris for the Mod2. Should also add the staff in the clothing department are excellent too - very attentive with good advice for the new rider.
Visited them on Saturday to put a down payment on a Yamaha R6. Even though I read the reviews about their appealing service online I didn't believe it until I went there. There were five or six guys who were chatting to each other and when I mention I am after the R6 I was told to speak to someone who was already with a customer. After waiting for good 30 minutes for the said person, I asked him how long it might take for him to be available. He was genuinely annoyed that I asked the question and said it will take him another 30 minutes. When I mentioned that I was asked by his colleagues to speak to him he got more annoyed and said "Yeah I am sure they are more than capable of helping you". Went back to the chaps who were still having their chat and they are apparently not capable of helping me and to find someone else at the floor. I got 0 respect as a customer and was treated very badly. After spending 45 minutes at the store we left and went to "West London Yamaha" instead. Even though it was hour and a bit away chaps their knew how to treat their customers and spent 15K in total for the bike and gear. If you are after great customer service avoid Metropolis since they are big and they have plenty of customers hence they will not care about you. Go and find a small local dealer they will take care of you and treat you with respect. I do not think I will ever visit Metropolis and I will not be recommending them to anyone. They are a big company with little to none service!
Training department is excellent and well worth the money if you want to start riding and live in London. Just passed my Mod 1 yesterday with Chris and couldn't be happier. Clear instruction on a great bike. He took us for a nice long drive both days and took us to some biker hang outs for lunch. Nice country roads with a bit of national speed limit thrown in best part of the course!! Service department not overly friendly expect one lady and the sales guys are all miserable. Someone needs to teach them a 'service industry smile'! But the work carried out seems fine and not too pricey. Thanks Chris. Be back soon for my Mod 2..
Where to begin? Firstly I did my first mod one test with another company which didnt go so well... It was coming to the end of 2013 and i really wanted to pass before 2014. I was very lucky to have called and spoken to Chris and he did not waste my time nor did he gave a crazy price for the mod 1 and mod 2. What was amazing they had lots of dates for me to choose from as they buy lots of test days :D After speaking to Zara who gave me more in depth information about both the mods i felt reassured they're were the one to do my full test. Coming to Mod one day I had another gentleman called Chris who spend 4hrs training me and I can not fault him anyway, He gave clear instructions and was very patient. Passed with only one minor! Thank you Chris! Mod 2 day once again Chris worked around the day I was free and he managed to find me one the next day of my call. The Instructor Pedro was great, he was very detailed and explained several times regarding how to do the Mod 2 test and corrected my riding skills, Passed with 3 minors. Happy days with great staff and great training I would highly recommend all my family / friends!!! A********* Thank you guys once again!!
Having done my CBT elsewhere and not really got on well with the training centre staff, I thought I'd try Metropolis for the rest of my training Mod 1 and 2 following a recommendation from a colleague; I'm glad I did. The instructors were knowledgeable, professional and friendly at all times, focusing on the areas of my riding that I needed to work on prior to the tests as well as giving practical advice to improve my riding ability after the course. I don't feel I would have passed without this invaluable hands-on approach. I enjoyed both courses immensely and would thoroughly recommend Metropolis to anybody thinking of starting out in the world of biking.
I can really recommend the friendly and professional staff at Metropolis. I completed my CBT course in January and was very impressed with the knowledge, teaching skills and patience of all the instructors. I had great help from Andy in the shop area to find a well fitting helmet & other bits that I needed. I then received excellent service from Mark Osborn and Leyton in the scooter section & am very pleased with my purchase of a used Yamaha Vity as my first bike. I will definitely go back to them in the future and would recommend their courses to anyone who is new to riding - they are really welcoming to people new to this mode of travel and take the time to explain everything really well.
Everyone at Metropolis has been absolutely fantastic. I did my CBT with them and had a great day. I had never ridden a motorbike, and by the end of the day they had given me the confidence to ride safely in London. I couldn't recommend them enough. Buying a Motorcycle with Metropolis was such a pleasant experience. Mark from the Sales team along with his colleagues gave me guidance and catered to my every need. Being such a novice I was clueless. They helped me in every way they could with no hard sell. They did everything they could to educate me and advise me on which bike to buy, maintenance and security. If you are looking into getting a bike then I can't recommend Metropolis enough.
