Great Mercure Newport Hotel! Great location, cozy rooms and excellent service. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive, always willing to help with any questions. The breakfast was great, with a great selection of food. Staying at Mercure Newport made my trip even more enjoyable and comfortable. I recommend this hotel to all travelers!
We stayed at the Mercure for 1 night only. It has a great central location. Breakfast was excellent at £10 if pre-paid. Karin on reception was excellent,very efficient and helpful. I found the bed a little soft & the room was far too warm. We couldn't turn the air con down below 19• Finally the gym is tiny.
Perfect service, immaculate rooms. I’d particularly like to mention the two chaps running breakfast on their own on the morning of the Newport marathon - they were both incredibly friendly and efficient! This is definitely the best place to stay in Newport.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Mercure Hotel, Newport on Friday as my works Christmas party was being held nearby. The hotel is spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially on the check in desk. I did order food via room service, which took 90 minutes to arrive however, the member of staff who brought the food up to my room was very apologetic for the delay and explained that there was a Christmas function on downstairs, which led to service being slower than usual. This is completely understandable and wasn't a problem for me. The food was absolutely amazing.nI would definitely recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel, normal British breakfast.nLittle Gym with few tools.nGood rooftop bar.nIf you are around for work Is a good place to stay.
