We enjoyed our lovely walk around the hall and its surroundings
Visited end of August,nWe booked ahead lovely small courtyard as you walk in with cafe, toilets, antique shop.nnDidnt go in the house but the gardens are superb.nwill def go back in April 2025 when i believe it reopens
The gardens inside the wall are stunning at this time of year. You get the traditional vistas across the lawns towards the historic bird cage pergola. Multiple views led down hedges laid out in the French style and more recent planting of younger trees under planted with a delicate meadow. The best part is the water garden with different colour combinations lining each stream.nOutside is one of the most stunning lakes I’ve seen and a micro brewery in a courtyard along with a wine shop and antiques. What’s not to love?nCafe was closed when I went as was half of the village!nThe garden is free for RHS and does Gardener’s World 241. If you love gardens it’s definitely worth a visit.
A beautiful lake to walk around and feed the ducks with access to a woodland pathway, dogs must be kept on a lead. The hall, gardens and cafe are temporarily closed. There are other small businesses in the court yard. A place to get a hot drink and snack with outside seating, a wine shop, leather goods, plants, a charity shop and a real ale pub. Some of the little shops were closed. There is a small amount of parking at the side of the church.
Lovely old village with a nice lake to walk round. Can get food and drink in the hall grounds plus one or two shops, but to go round the gardens when open costs £10 each, too much for us I'm afraid.
