Really authentic Hong Kong style restaurant. English menu provided. Great for Dim Sum. On the par with Glamorous. The service was quick and the food was authentic and tasty. Two of us went and had a selection of dim sum which were of good quality. Overall better than some of the Hong Kong style cafes in Chinatown. Parking: There is a paid car park opposite the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: None.
The restaurant is located in the center of China Town, very convenient . Every time I go to China town, I stop by for lunch or dinner, the prices are average. There are some very unique dishes that are no different from the dishes I have eaten in Hong Kong. Roasted pork has crispy skin and not much fat. But the shrimp dish sometimes has some that are not fresh
Decent Sichuan style Chinese cuisine in Manchester’s Chinatown. The service was attentive and efficient. The restaurant itself is functional/utilitarian.Food: 4/5
Big portions, we got the banquet B which was around £55 and was a huge amount of food. The food came out quick and seemed fresh but some dishes were lacking in flavour. Good range of food. The space is very basic and a little run down. The service was pretty good. I don't think I would return based on the amount of other restaurants in the area but I had a decent time. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is down a set of stairs and I didn't see any lift
Fantastic food. Reasonable prices. Simple and a nice crowd gives a good atmosphere I recommend spicy meat nut parcels Red peppers stuffed with seafood Beef dumplings with spring onions and ginger
In Chinatown London I always Go Buy roasted duck and pork for £13, The money doesn’t matter to me but Today I went to Manchester Chinatown and went to Mei Dim Restaurant. I bought what I usually buy in London Chinatown and I Got the Roasted duck and roasted pork with rice. I spent £15.80 as I said money doesn’t matter to me but I went home and opened my food and don’t bother 4 roast duck slices and 5 pieces of Roasted pork. This is absolutely not okay. It’s an absolute Scam! £15.80 for 4 slices of roasted duck 5 pieces of roasted pork with 1/4 of duck and pork 2/4 of rice and the rest filled with white cabbage! This Place is a Scam!
Mei dim is great for dim sum selection, some I haven’t seen many places. Perfect for sharing as intended. Roast Meats good too. Big weight to the 5 star review is that they have very reasonable prices and large portions. Have had both takeaway and delivery many times.Food: 4/5
First time coming here for dinner and we came in as a group of 8. I was pleased to see dim sum was still around after 5pm but we mostly ordered main dishes. Decent portion at reasonable price since it's in Chinatown / city centre. Service was good and attentive considering it was quite busy at that time. Would come back again.
One of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in the UK. My partner and I visited this restaurant in Manchester China Town today for lunch. My partner asked if they had any vegetarian options, and the lady said they did and gave us a menu. The menu didn't have the lunch specials that were advertised outside. When we asked about it, she seemed unhappy, though I'm not sure why.We ordered three roast meat with rice for my partner and a vegetable spring roll for myself. When the food arrived, the three roast meat with rice had a strand of hair in it, which was utterly disgusting. Wish I had taken a pic of it. We immediately informed the server, who took the plate away to replace it but did so without offering any apology. By then, my partner's appetite was thoroughly ruined, and decided to cancel that order. The veg springroll was just okay. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience marked by poor service didn't feel welcoming at all and unacceptable food hygiene. I would not recommend this place based on our experience.
Had 2 dishes, Singapore vermicelli and roast duck, roast pork, char siu rice. They were not upto my expectations and were just of marginally average qualities. Perhaps what you would pay for what you would get these were special offer dishes cost £11.80 each. Besides, a dim sum named fried squid paste, that was quite good.
