Enjoyed a peaceful stroll around this scenic, quiet Devon Wildlife Trust reserve. Lots of lakes and ponds to sit by and enjoy the views and wildlife. The walks are reasonably flat and they don't take long. Ideal place to stop and have a picnic.
A lovely place to visit with children and dogs. There is an area where digs are not allowed to go because of breeding, but still plenty to walk. There are viewing areas to see wildlife. A huge lake where you can sit and watch. A magnificent place for school trips and a picnic. “Free” entry but there is a donation box at the car park.
Lovely afternoon walk. Toilet's were closed due to pandamic.lots of butterfly's and dragon fly's..bit muddy in places so good footwear needed.
Such a quiet place, in the middle of know where, great place to take time out n go for a walk and forget about life and enjoy the wildlife, the views and wander around the trails. Go sit in the hide over looking part of the quarry. Parking ethier at Meeth halt Station or down into the nature reserve.
A lovely, tranquil place for just a walk in the wild, or super birdwatching. Well worth a visit.
Went to visit Meeth Quarry last Saturday with my all-time wheelchair user son. First obstacle was the toilet. It was open, but the gates were locked so it wasn't possible to get there with wheelchair. So if you're a wheelchair user and you actually want to use the toilet this place is not for you. Easy access trail - well we've been here twice so far. First with a manual wheelchair - that's definitely a no go. I am pretty fitbut this trail was a struggle.. Second time we came to use my son's adapted trike. It was easier but on the way back the track is fairly steep and you havento struggle with the gates as well.
Beautiful views. We walked one of the many trails. The views were breath taking. Was a lovely day
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. Plenty of walking on various paths with stunning views. So much wildlife; in particular dragon flies, butterflies and birds. The dog loved it too!
Went midweek, parked at Yarde cafe only open at weekends out of season and cycled on Tarka trail to reserve, lovely walk near lakes; and super lunch at Bull and Dragon, thanks to previous review.
Good walk if you have dogs on a lead. Only went there on our way back from camping holiday. To call it a nature reserve is a little loose, only things we saw were Canada geese, a few water fowl and a couple of dragonflies.
