A stylish salon that helpfully uses an online booking system to quickly and easily select the treatment and staff member of your choice.  It is in a relaxed setting and there is a wide array of refreshments on offer.  Bryony was very helpful and empathetic and took the time to understand my requirements while demonstrating great technical knowledge.  My only criticism is that tips cannot be added to card payments and I hope that this is something that the salon will address.

Had a great experience getting my hair cut and styled. Ellie explained what would suit my hair type, checked in while taking of the length and made sure I'm loving the haircut before finishing up. Reasonably priced, clean and tidy salon and great staff.

I first visited Medusa in November 2021, after having a baby in May my hair felt thin and lifeless and I was really self conscious about it. I decided to have a complete style transformation and Ellie gave me such a fantastic cut, have had so many compliments and feel like a new person! Fast forward to tonight where I went to get my new hair cut coloured with Ellie, she listened to what I wanted and advised me accordingly, she is so honest, friendly and so so good at what she does. Hair looks so cool and I feel back to being confident! Thank you Ellie, my go to stylist from now on x

I came in for a radical change of hairstyle and was really unsure about whether it would suit me. My stylist Debbie was so friendly and professional, she was able to give me great advice and produced a cut that was exactly what I had in mind and looks great!!  I couldn't be happier with the service I received today. The salon is a lovely atmosphere, it is well-organised and feels safe covid-wise. Great value too, for how professional and talented the stylists are. I will be back soon!

After a disappointing first visit I returned to Medusa where Linda had arranged for Leanne to colour my hair. Leanne understood what I wanted and took time to explore all the options. She paid great attention to detail and I'm really happy with the result. I had previously given this salon 1 star but it truly does deserve a 5 star review. Really good customer service shown and all the staff are lovely. There is a great atmosphere in this salon, and good coffee too!

Just had my cut and colour done by Nicola in your Musselburgh salon and as always I absolutely love it. The quality of the colour is the best I have experienced. The service is outstanding and I always look forward to my hair appoint with her. She is attentive and I always leave with a smile. I would highly recommend Nicola to friends and family.

Love love LOVE this salon. I had my colour done by Debbie after it was “mistreated” by another salon. She listened to me, asked questions to make sure we were thinking the same thing and she nailed it.  You absolutely get what you pay for at Medusa and I’ll not go anywhere else again. Having used Medusa pre covid was excited when salons were back open.  Booked appointment with creative director.  Got to salon to find out my hairdresser had gone home sick.  They offered me the next day with a different creative director.   I took it desperately.  Next day I got a phone call at 9am saying my appointment couldn’t go ahead.  I could get one in two weeks time.  Poor service.  Disappointed.  I know it’s not their fault I have cancer, had to stop driving and need to arrange a lift - but it makes it all inconvenient.  Disappointed to say the least

I was booked with Nicola for blow dry first time in Medusa. She was horrible. She was so rough in handling my hair, I felt she racially discriminated me. While blow drying, she was pulling my hair badly which was very painful and she scratched my face with her long nails. I would not recommend her to anybody. I never had such a horrifying experience in any other saloon. When I complained about her, manger offered me to get my hair fixed by clinical director. She was lovely and made my hair look beautiful. One extra star for their customer service otherwise I would have given 1 star. I had make up appt soon after my hair appointment but was extremely late. Because of Nicolas poor service I had messed up evening.

Went in to get my shoulder length hair cut into a textured pixie. The photos I brought as examples were waved off very quickly, and instead of having a little bit shaved I ended up with completely shaved sides and back with a short cropped top. Even the top bit was cut down a lot shorter than what I had indicated. Not sure why but the process was awkward and it felt like the stylist was unsure about what to do, to the point where he asked for advice several times and then ended up shaving most of the hair. For something that felt almost like a student haircut I would not pay £55 again.
