Going for standard bingo is great so a gang of us decided to book for the “bongo” style bingo. First event was cancelled! These things happen so we weren’t too disappointed. However next weeks event has now been cancelled as well ! Absolutely gutted! Won’t be booking again!
All staff are excellent. Friendly. Presentable. Free WiFi. But that is the only thing good about Mecca bingo! ALL MAX BOARD S WIN, wasting money on paper tickets. Got know chance against a max board! Example a max board won before on 40 numbers for the house! Its quite soul destroying and depressing coming to Mecca bingo one staff member on bar till. Long queues.
Shocking place , I thought buzz was bad for fixing games but Mecca is a hundred times worse! Been to Birkenhead maybe 20-30 times in the last months, and the same bunch of people who seem to be there everyday seem to win nearly every game!! Its a total scam stay well away folks your just throwing your money away, the winning max’s are given to a select few!
Great for atmosphere and obviously a game of bingo with good cash prizes
First time visiting. Had a great experience. Food and drink served. I was worried I wouldn't be fast enough at marking the numbers but they now have ipads that do it for you. Really enjoyed myself. And the young man at the front desk was lovely and polite and showed me what to do. Also got some great offers.Will be returning.
I enjoyed it but the callers were a bit quick! Which books and what we were playing was not clear enough, at one point I had to stop the caller after the first number to clarify which one we were playing the tables were a bit unclear too, took us nearly to the end to realise the background of the board lit up!! Was much easier to follow at gala, however I think now we have been next time will be much easier, just got to get used to the speed they do everything the calls are so quick, I did struggle to keep up once or twice and I've played at gala for years so not new to it!!! The prize money was better tho not that we won any!!
Good local club with a bar, decent food and friendly staff. Only downside is that the same people keep winning on the max boards and some of them play on the books at the same time - it's really frustrating and not fair on others who prefer to just play on the books. There's no fun in the game at all, as there is no chance of winning.
Harvey was 2 fast and talking back to the people when asking him to please slow down so they can keep up with him he’s to cheeky loads of people complaining
Saturday afternoon visit with my daughter. More expensive for tickets than we thought. Elderly lady and other on stage continually talking aloud and repeating called numbers and then missing numbers and shouting out is it two lines now etc! Whilst I appreciate one was elderly could they please appreciate that other players are distracted by their behaviour and having paid a lot for tickets could miss out on a win. Staff seem oblivious to the problem even though several members told them to shush. Not too sure a return visit is in order.
Staff chatting loudly non stop during bingo. Very annoying won't be back
