A wonderful experience, fantastic service, excellent food and a warm welcome to any weary traveler .. highly recommended
Been coming to Downings for years and can never understand McNutt’s lack of investment or offerings to the general public, unfortunately . The cafe interior is like something from the 60s/70s. Their food offerings are also behind the times, very old fashioned. In the midst of summer you’re liable to see shepherds pies and lasagnes when it should be fish and warm weather menu. Coffee is just OK, again they are falling behind the rest of the restaurants and cafes in the area. There is absolutely nothing on the outside of mcnutts or the presentation of the building that would make you want to go inside. The buildings at the pier area in general are unsightly and in need of decoration. A bit of investment and modern thinking would attract more people here over from Downings Main Street. At the moment people have too many professional, attractive offerings that will not take them over to the pier for a lacklustre approach.
Family friendly place with somewhat limited seating. Can be busy during lunch time. Good but not exceptional food.
