A few months back we adopted Frank, he's the cutest little guy. The process was handled so well, the team at Mayhew were absolutely brilliant and he's so well trained. We couldn't have asked for a better kitten. The Mayhew is an amazing place, we highly recommend you go to them when looking for a pet.
Yes unfortunately my cat was very ill and as it was not possible to have her treated there she passed away that afternoon her time was up she was a good age but i did not like to see her suffering i miss her she was a stray cat and we had her 13years . .Thanks to the staff at Mayhew they are so nice and they do a great job . Regards Margaret
A wonderful local charity rescuing cats and dogs. I adopted my two kittens from the Mayhew and the staff were so helpful and passionate about their jobs. I would recommend them to anyone looking to adopt or foster.
Exceptionally caring and thoughtful animal rescue centre. The staff really know their cats and take great care to match them to appropriate homes. Adopting a cat from here is a pleasure
A amazing place adopted my boy from here many years ago had 13 wonderful years with him. Staff was very friendly and helpful they do a amazing job
I volunteer at their cattery every weekend so can vouch for the staff's care and attention. Here are just a very small sample of my favourites ...
Mayhew are excellent! Smaller than Battersea but I'd say better organised and much more together. I adopted my cat from Mayhew and was impressed by the care they took to make sure the adoption would be successful. My thanks to Mathew who was pleasant, helpful and efficient overseeing my adoption of Bruce the cat. My respect to all at the centre and the way it all works.
Adopted from here and had a wonderful experience. Had help from the start to find the dog I wanted. Had support and guidance when deciding and have my little dog home with me now. I cannot recommend them enough. My little dog was in foster care and the foster carers gave me lots off information when I went to visit. I could not be any happier with how everything went adopting from here. A home visit was carried out before my dog was brought him and I had plenty of time to ask questions also. I am a confident small dog owner but have never adopted before but all the information that the Mayhew could provide was provided. How she was medically and how she seemed to react to situations. She loves children and big dogs. She is a little chihuahua. She loves kids and likes to go over to them when we are off lead at the park. Finding out how she would react to daily living had to be found out by daily living when she got home. As my little dog is older than a puppy we have to attend dog training and are in the process of doing this. Although I have owned dogs thks is important for us as she is over one and a half. This will help both of us. The Mayhew staff have been helpful and supportive. They provide a wonderful home for rescues ensuring that they stay there until medically fit and then ensure that the right fit is found for people who want to adopt. They have both cats and dogs here and signing up to their website beforehand makes finding the information you need so much easier. It also gives you an opportunity to see the dogs and cats.
We had our lovely dog as a pup from Mayhew. The team are fantastic and realitistic. We had our dog from 4 months until he died aged 13 years during lockdown. It's charity that does good work for animals in its care whether for medical need or looking to be adopted.
Wonderful shelter. Years ago we used to volunteer to walk their dogs and eventually adopted a really lovely cat from them. They carried out checks before allowing us to adopt and were great in terms of trying to ensure the best match for both our cat and us as a family.
