This used to be an outstanding surgery a few years ago - now that the previous Lead Doctor now an MP is no longer there, it's all about minute counting and patientd only being able to bring ONE health issue to the appointment,. Yesterday i had to wait 50 minutes as the doctor clearly found it difficult to stick to their allocated 10 minute slot.nI am sure it's not enjoyable for them either , but they are trying to squeeze as many patients in as possible - now that I am old and need a doctor more often, i feel quite abandoned and uncared for - after 25 years I will be looking for another surgery.
It's disgusting that we have to wait 4 to 6 weeks to see the doctor.  Unless the receptionists deem it an urgent issue to allow you to have a same-day appointment.  It might be possible to see a less qualified medic or a different doctor, but they don't know you, and are starting from scratch each time ... which leads to wasted time explaining your history again and care which isn't joined up. Not a good use of resources and outcomes are invariably worse. Really not happy with the way things are managed and the tangible effect on my family's health.  Even for basic things, people are now being forced to go private if they can afford it, which undermines our incredibly important NHS.nShame on those making the decisions that cause this situation.
I would like to say a huge thank you for the support I have received for my recent health problems. All of the Doctors I have seen or spoken to have been so reassuring. I have always been able to get to see or talk to a Doctor. I have only been registered with May Lane Surgery since Nov 2024 but so grateful to them all for the care they have given me. Thank you
When you are ill the GP can never fit you in for appointment, they are always fully booked to see the doctor. The 111 service is a waste of space. These day all company stay open 7 days, why can't GP do the same. If you do have appointment they give you the wrong time of day and have a whole day off work and book it down as annual leave just make the appointment. Think they should have two appointment book one for working class people and the other for stay at home people.
Not very helpful. Needed to see my doctor, about my eye, was told that they are not seeing patients with eye complaints due to the “situation”.nnDiverted me off to a opticians who had no idea about people not being able to see their doctor. They couldn’t help told me to go to A&E.nnGPs, please get a grip, the world is moving on. You have a duty to help those that need the NHS. Blocking access is unacceptable.
