With so many good points, the food lets this place down. Good prices on food and cocktails, great location and plenty of seating. We sat overlooking the street outside and were promptly greeted by a great waiter. Drinks came quickly and the service was very attentive. It all went downhill with the food, the meat was tough and chips far too salty. We asked for ketchup which came in a very battered Heinz bottle and clearly wasn't Heinz. The cocktails were good and cheap and this could of been an outstanding visit, but the food the very reason we came was a let down. There was a lot of choice, so maybe we chose wrong, but wont be returning.
Long time, I was thinking, what to write about this place. Now I am not reviewing the restaurant, but the night club. After midnight, this place is like a black hole, with special kind of gravity, which is attracting drunk people from the city. This place then is so crowded, that you can´t move, go to the toilet or just dance. On the toilet is always annoying guy who wants money for washing your hands and spraying you by smelly cheap fragrances. Drinks are acceptable priced, but you have to wait ages till they served you. DJ is always playing the same music, every single night. So why I am going there? Because of my friends. You just can´t convince them to go somewhere else. Because of the bloody gravity field.
Occasionally go here for lunch and always enjoy decent food at a fair price. Great location, fun to sit in the window and watch the world go by below you gets hot in the window on a sunny day through!. Booths are great to sit in as well. Fantastic staff, very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Note: Steep staircase to go up to the entrance if that's an issue for you.
I went with a friend on Sunday at about 16:30 because we liked the atmoshere of the old american restaurant. It's also at the first floor of one old building so we sat close to the window and we could enjoy the street band who played at that time. Evevy Sunday they have happy hour 12:00-17:00 for coctails and the Carlsberg I think. The menu offers classic american dishes like burgers and club sandwithes and some others like hot chicken and potatoes. The portions are really huge and the prices good 10-13 pounds per dish. The only negative point was that we were almost the only customers.
American ish diner-cum-dancey place. Bland, unexciting food. It is not difficult to make a good burger & nachos. Reminded me a bit of a spoons meal, without the change on a fiver. Beer was cold :
Inexpensive club, good for when you are out of the pub in Oxford and there's nothing else to go to continue partying if you want to maintain a stretch budget. 2000's hits, quite repetitive.
With my wife had superb lunch the best chicken BBQ i have had before and her salad as well absoluty fantastic well done guys.just please put on sale Drough beer please this small bottel of 330ml is to small .
Really good and cheap place to eat in center Oxford. The food is good but not awesome. The local is nice but not great. The price is fair. The location is very good.
American style night club and cocktail bar. Great music and good drinks. Very fun.
Your average college dance bar with a top 40s playlist and a lot of drunk studnets, don't go there if you aren't drunk
