Having finally recovered from the loss of Maxi's Restaurant I thought I'd give the Rotisserie a go for lunch. The first thing you notice is how "real" it all feels, this isn't some gentrified food truck, it has a really authentic feel from the moment you see the menu to walking in. Service is friendly from the off, I went for the soy chicken with rice as an intro to the place and once ordered it came quickly and looked great. There's not a lot of room to stand and wait inside and you're constantly moving to let people by, alternatively you can step outside into the market area and await the buzz from the little plastic disc. The meal wasn't exactly brimming with extreme flavours it was ordered knowing this would be the case but was well cooked and the chicken nice and tender. The only downside being the bones, had it been left whole it would have been fine but because it's chopped you get a lot of bone fragments and it's harder to get all the meat. I'll go back and try some of the other stuff for sure and I'm sure it's a real treat for those that eat pork, that looked amazing.
I went there at lunch time. The food was delicious. The roasted duck was amazing with a crunchy skin. But my beef brisket was too salty. That’s made me need a lot of water that day. However, when I finished the meal, there were some customers aimed at my table and stuck my way for throwing the trash. That made me drop my trash right next to trash bin. I was sad but I know I need to clean up. The stuck guy still standing there. I think he should step back and let me clean the area. And when I finished cleaning, he rushed to my table. ‍ Is it really necessary?‍ By the way, the staff did not help me with the cleaning that I use my tissue and knelt on the floor.
A surprise find in Kirkgate Market. Very authentic Camtonese food choices. Had their chicken and sausage hot pot, that is cooked on order and takes 20 to 25 minutes. It was delicious, with bottom rice layer becoming crispy. The chicken was flavoursome, sausage a bit hard. On display was special duck boxes and we decided to try one. This had spicy duck tongue and wings. Had not had these before, so it was a new experience. The duck was saucy and spicy, more Schechuan style than Cantonese. We plan to go back to try the flat stir fry noodles suggested by a fellow diner.

Wow!! My new obsession!! Absolutely blown away with the food here! Bloody delicious!!! We had the 3 mixed meat and rice and were not let down. Check out my page on Facebook and Instagram Meg P Eats Yorkshire for more food inspiration in the area Food: 5/5
Visited here 3-4 times and the roasties here are so so good, especially the duck. The char siew may be just so-so but the duck is just so soft and juicy. I loved the Salted and Spiced steamed chicken rice too. One thing is that their quality of roast meats may not be very consistent because some day the meats are so good and juicy but some days, they're a little dry. I love that they let you self-serve the salted scallion ginger oil, chilli oil and plum sauce. I always bathe my food in these amazing sauces. Oh, and portion size is so so big. Highly recommend this place to everyone who's craving Chinese/Chinese-Malaysian food.
Not fancy. But great food. Reminds me of a great road side cafe u get in Hong Kong or Singapore. Highly recommend for roast duck, belly pork or Char sui!Food: 5/5
