Nice bakery with lots of choices too. The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend this bakery. One of the best Pies I tried. I wish I live in Edinburgh as I definitely will be a regular. Ps. The 2 reviewers before me? Seriously? Bad mouthing a small business during this difficult time where everyone are struggling? Shame on you!
Bought two donuts here. Stale, greasy and flavourless. Asked the woman behind the counter what she would recommend and got a, "Dinnae ken, everyone likes different things," and not much else. No craic from anyone. As I was leaving, the baker came out from the back and stared at me as I left, making me feel a bit intimidated. The whole thing felt like maybe it was a front. All in all, a very weird, unpleasant experience that was coupled with the unappetising food. In all my years in Edinburgh, I have never been to Masons, despite walking past it every day, and know that for all the rest of the time I am here, I will never return.
My partner went for carrot cake and fresh loaf of bread yesterday. The bread was brick hard and must have been sitting about for days. The carrot cakes were rock hard! Complete waste of money. I visited myself a while back and saw mould on some cakes which is why I never went back. My partner wanted to give it another go and that’s the last straw! Absolutely horrible! AVOID GO WHERE THEY ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AND THEIR PRODUCTS. Rude staff as well

Best Scotch pies in town
Great bakery, good honest baking but if your looking for fresh cream, you will struggle to find it here. Wonderful Soda Bread and Bran Scones. For bread and rolls and Scotch Pies this is the place.

Brilliant bakery one of the oldest and best in town. Would highly recommend. James and Joan who own the place are a very lovely couple aswell excellent service everytime
Best pies in Edinburgh. My husband was a bus driver in the 70s and 80s and we have been eating Mason's pies since then. My husband says Mason's has saved a lot of bus driver , especially over cold and wet winter months over many, many years. Enjoy a GOOD PIE.
