A beautiful Masjid situated in the heart of Evington, serving over 1500 members of the local community and beyond. One of the largest masjids in Leicester and most iconic. Weekly talks for men and women taking place during the week. Men and women prayer facilities are at this Masjid.
I had a wonderful experience at Masjid Umar! The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The mosque offers a variety of services for the community, including daily prayers, Friday sermons, and educational programs. The khutbahs sermons are always thought-provoking and inspiring, and I feel uplifted after attending prayer here. I appreciate the effort that the mosque puts into creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone who visits. Overall, I highly recommend Masjid Umar to anyone in Leicester who is looking for a welcoming and inspiring place to worship and connect with others in the community.
This masjid is lovely. Moulana sindhi gives heart rendering talks in ramadhan. Large masjid, with a good vibe in ramadhan.
Visiting Leicester so attended Magrib Jamaath at around 8.30pm. Car park is very small with only a capacity of 20 to 30 cars. Had to park outside...which is also a struggle. As a result got late for the prayer. The wudu facilities are good with small face towels to dry. Plenty of shoe spaces which has been well designed. Not your usual unsightly shoe racks but built into the walls. Main Hall is upstairs with two staircases. There is also a lift for disabled people. This is a beautiful building and was well impressed with the design and attention to detail. Well done to the good people involved in building this fantastic building.

I can't tell you about my experience here because I wasn't allowed in. As far as I know there is a space for women, but it wasn't open. Regardless, even if there wasn't a space, is it so difficult to open a little room where I can pray? Would they prefer a sister to pray on the street? I was travelling so didn't have the luxury of being able to pray at home. The ironic thing is, there was a church across the street who let me in one of their spaces and I prayed there. The mosque should be ashamed. They really are not displaying the values that they should be. I hope they see this and think about how accommodating they will be in the future, for women who just pray. That's it.

Maa Shaa Allah beautiful masjid. Well maintained. Clean wudu area. Warm and welcoming community feel.
