This place doesn't look much from the outside but don't be put off as both times I've eaten here the food has been excellent. Only three stars though as gluten free options are not marked on the menu and after asking what is GF the options are limited. Service was fine and prices pretty average. Enormous whisky selection too and I noticed their flight menu had a lot to choose from
What a fun place. Extremely knowledgeable staff who are not snobby about whisky, but still are serious about what they serve. Unparalleled selection! The food is creative and very well prepared. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for being above a pub.
The Mash Tun is an amazing pub. I've been enjoying it since my first visit and they never disappoint. The food is always delicious, the drinks are always cold, and the atmosphere feels like home. I can't ask for anything more!
Super cozy place, vast choice of approximately 270 whiskies, several whisky flights and a decent menu to eat. Food though was a bit dry and slightly disappointing. Service friendly, attentive and quick.
Restaurant review. Disappointing return after many years away. Menu had many items not available. Wine list also. No sav blanc! The rose had not even been chilled and needed an ice bucket to be drinkable. Steak was well over cooked. Burger was decent. They operate a 2 seating session per night policy which is to their convenience, not the customers. Great location next to the river, but tourist pricing, of course.
Delicious food, including the best onion gravy I've ever tasted. They had a varied selection including vegetarian options, which was great. The staff was very friendly, which just made it an overall lovely experience!
This was a comfortable and welcoming place for lunch. We stopped on our way through the area on Monday. Our server was very helpful and kind. We would return. It was also dog friendly which was a huge bonus!
Visited the restaurant only. Called ahead ahead to see if we could get a table for two, told no. Ended up walking over to see if we could sit at the bar and turned out the restaurant was empty and we could actually get a seat at a table. The servers had zero interest in serving and we had to constantly get their attention for another drink. Would not recommend
Fab pub in a lovely location. Staff were lovely, attentive and really knowledgeable about their whiskys. Food was fantastic and we would highly recommend a meal here!Service: 5/5
Meal with family whilst staying in the area, was delighted with the whisky selection, and to find Cairngorm Brewery on draught! The pulled pork "Proper Pie" was proper good! Good service from friendly staff, would come again when in the area.
