This has to be one of the best independent family run campsites we have stayed at!! It’s a small version of Centre Parks and perfect for families . Although we are a couple in our 60’s. We booked for the three days of music Friday , Saturday and Sunday evening. We came in our motorhome on a fully serviced gravel and grass pitch and it was huge. Also available are safari tents , lodges and bell tents Dog walk and dog wash Fishing Quad biking Clay pigeon shoot Crazy golf Soft play Archery and axe throwing And close to Marvell zoo though independent of the zoo Restaurant and bar with amazing tapas pizza and tomahawk steaks Cafe Lakes and fords with stepping stones and climbing ropes Highly recommended https://www.marwellresort.co.uk/
Lovely place for an overnight stay in our motorhome. Great level pitch. Beautiful surroundings. Fabulous dog walk. Friendly staff. The food in the restaurant was really tasty!! Toilets and showers were fairly clean. Great facilities for campers. There was a wedding on when we visited so the Pizzaria was closed. My only gripe is that there is no WiFi. Oh, and we found the site map slighyly disorientating! Would have been perfect if it wasn't raining all weekend!
Marwell resort is so friendly, we loved our stay here. We had caravan on hard standing, 2 adults, 4 kids and 1 dog. It is the most dog friendly place I've ever been too, it's now our new favourite place. Lots to do, all the staff are lovely and dog people my kind of people! We will be back in the summer, can't wait Nearby activities: We did air rifles, axe throwing and tree top adventure, well run again by friendly helpful people. Crazy golf, and soft play, we had lots of fun in the sunshine and chasing our 3 year old round the soft play and racing down the slides. The free nature playground is fab too. Food & drinks: Dog friendly restaurant food was really good, we came back the next morning for dessert, before our tree top activity.
We ended up booking a powered campsite here for 3 nights for a camper van. For the price £48 per night I can honestly say we feel completely ripped off. Our site was double booked, which lead to a dangerous situation returning from a day trip and finding a tent pitched between our access point and the road. The toilets and showers were absolutely filthy. I totally understand this is a family site but an extra round of cleaning is definitely needed in the evenings. I’ve never seen a toilet block in such a state. The push button timed showers were swift to say the least, and searing hot with no temperature control. The sinks water pressure was so high the hot water splashes out and into the faces of small people. I was so disappointed. We thought a “resort” would be well worth the money, but for our purposes of needing a place to pitch up with power and a place to dump our chemical toilet before taking the van back, it was money I really feel hard done by having spent. Oh and we arrived at 4:45pm to have to chase down staff, to be told the on site restaurant took last orders at 5pm ?!? and if we wanted a pint at the bar, last orders were at 7pm ???!!!. Perhaps renaming to Marwell Family Campsite would be more appropriate. Resort is a bit far fetched.
I love Marwell Resort although I don't want to give a review really as I don't want others to find it as I love it so much The showers are warm, clean important to me as many camp sites it can all be a bit grim. The restaurant is well staffed and got excellent food on offer. I particularly enjoyed the ribs. All our party loved the food. Although were a bit gutted the pizzas weren't available on the Friday night as they taste great. The activities are great. We stayed in our tent so the room was perfect! The camping area is clean and beautiful. Second time going and can't wait to go back x All in all 5 out of 5 stars.
My family stayed here for the week but I had work shame. I did my best to visit them as wasn't that far away. I chose Wednesday evening. And what an evening it was. The entertainment was amazing. We played music bingo which the best bingo Iv ever played. Other things to point out....my dog was welcome and had a great time. The food was good, both in taste and price. The drinks were reasonably priced as well. I wish it was closer so I didn't have to drive there Food & drinks: Good quality food at a decent price. Not what you would expect
Lodges weren't very clean. On arrival, felt 'bits' under socks. Had to hoover. Hoover then stunk. Footprint in family bathroom from a boot? Ketchup stains on family dining table. Milk spillages in fridge. Dirty plates in cupboard. Stains on sofa. Disappointing. Softplay was excellent and staff very welcoming. Staff member on arrival did not know early check in time, did not advise well and admitted he was just covering reception and asked me my expected time and even what the time was! Overall : won't stay again as shouldn't have to clean on arrival. Stayed in much cleaner lodges before.
Absolutely brilliant, great friendly helpful staff, great place to camp, toilets and showers were great and plenty to do. We will be returning there Nearby activities: Loads to do first class
We stayed here on one of the hardstanding pitches for a long weekend and had a fabulous time. The site is easy to get to, pitches are huge, LOADS to do on site with or without kids. There is a soft play so you can eat your meals in the restaurant for free incidentally the food is WONDERFUL! Highly recommend the breakfast we also sampled the woodfire pizza which was yummy!!! Looking forward to going back in the summer when the bbq is open Not only that but Marwell Zoo is a short 4 mins drive or a half hour walk main road no paths which the kids absolutely LOVED!!! Thanks for a fab long weekend and look forward to coming back soon! Rooms: Pitches for hard standing where HUGE! Nearby activities: Zoo, Fishing, shooting, high ropes, archery, axe throwing, soft play and much much more!!! Food & drinks: Woodfired pizza, great breakfasts!
We were camping for 2 weeks with an electric hook up. The site and facilities were excellent. The staff were amazing and very friendly. I definitely recommend the pizza from their bestro. My husband enjoyed the fishing with lots of success. We found lots to do in the surrounding area. Would recommend the zoo that is next door. The watercress line steam engine and the historic portsmouth Dock for great days out.
